Nothing in that article comes across as surprising or "new" news, at least in my own personal opinion.

I think it was somewhat expected that we would have a similar situation with '21 as we did with '14 when it released on the PS3 and then later on the PS4.

We are a little under two weeks away from February and receiving information straight from the horse's mouth, so I'll continue to wait to hear from SDS what new for '21, what platforms, and its release date.

Whether it drops in March, April or May, I anticipate buying on day one, and continuing to play '20 up until the release.

A possible delay isn't surprising in and of itself however if it's delayed because of an insistence that it come to Xbox/Microsoft or other platforms this year then boo. If that's the case the it's more likely that everyone gets a subpar game. A bad game is worse than no game for all involved. Let's hope we get some positive news come February.

Interesting. Seems likely it won't be til opening day of MLB season.

!00% it will be delayed. the BIG question is will the PS4 version also be delayed, I wouldn't even call it a delay because it hasn't even been planned for a March release.

So far sports games haven't been effected from 2020 but we shall see, that is my concern having no mlb the show out when we are halfway through the season. next gen can wait it's a easy file transfer I just hope the ps4 version is out late march as usual, last year it came out march 13...... I remember it well the same day I got the game spring training was cancelled and we had no season in limbo. it was depressing as hell

Usually start of spring training lately I thought? Feb 28th first week of March etc.

Owell either way, even if this year it's end of april with some new bells and whistles, this year is understandable.
Hopefully by that time rolls around PS5's will be in stores so I can actually purchase one [emoji849]

Would like to get my hands on a ps5 as well, but the in the Netherlands it has so far been impossible, and still there is no stock.

I don't see why the PS4 version would be a month delayed.

Let's face it 90% of the game will be the same, There will be some minor updates to gameplay maybe a few new animations and as we all know DD will get all the talk but the structure of franchise won't change.

However perhaps working on the PS5 version has created more work in getting the ps4 version ready. and who knows if they have been working on other consoles. MLB the show 14 came out April 1st just did a bit of research so it was a 6 week or so wait for the ps4 version that year.

Last year was the earliest the game came out March 13 in years usually it was 2 weeks after that. so they have actually had 2 extra weeks also for this year. might not seem like much but that's a lot !

I got lucky as hell getting my ps5 just happened to be online 5 mins after stock was up and I got it. pure luck.

It never bothered any other sporting game.... Madden and Fifa etc had no delays. Like I said this isn't a full on brand new game. most of the game has already been made from previous years. I know the pandemic is a excuse used for everything these days (Cyberpunk) but for sporting games it shouldn't matter as much.
