Shohei Ohtani pitching

How can u make Ohtani a 2 way player again? All his pitching stats are 0 in the last SCEA update. I try to ediit him but no option is given for editing his pitching inside Franchise. Any tips?

Only thing I can think of is to create a CAP and set his attributes as needed, but then there will be two Ohtani's, so prob not a great idea.

That also includes viewing post history.

Initially it was disabled for all but had to revert back to enabling it for supporters only which explains why it worked for Bullit but not for others.

But that thread MatrixTN linked explains why in case there are questions.

None really answer the question though they changed it so Ohtani is now a outfielder not a pitcher and you can't put him in the rotation. I always had the roster with him as a pitcher and it was easier to just throw him in the lineup, now it doesn't work at all it's even worse as now he has no pitching stats this was a TERRIBLE choice to make him a potions player now it;s pointless you can't even have a two way player now for him.

wish they would stop screwing this problem with Ohtani all the time and make two way players work.

I can't answer the question but IRL I seriously doubt he will be able to do both.

Babe Ruth was an outstanding pitcher until 1919 when they made him an everyday outfielder and his pitching was poor. That was the final year he pitching to any significant extent.

Too hard on the body to try to do both even for Ruth who was strong as an Ox.

has anyone made a good CAP for him? I am thinking of just importing one over in the free agents so I can decide in my franchise if I want to use him as a pitcher at some stage. I can simply play the drop down to minors and recall game every 5 days to get around it.... Here I am again 3 years later still finding ways to get around this Ohtani problem because they keep screwing it up in a different way each time.

First it was you couldn't have him in the lineup (got around that by burning a bench spot and calling up a player as a DH each time then sending back then every few days
then it was he counting as a pitcher on the roster.. (similar to problem above how I got around him
now it's you can't even have him pitcher (so I will have to get around this by having 2 damm Ohtanias on the roster and waste a roster spot and keeping calling the pitcher up every 6 days for a 6 man rotation and sending him down

Well he is doing it now for 2021.. but we can't make him a pitcher in mlb the show 20 because they messed him up for the 3rd year with the two way player thing... unless you use the default roster. they actually had this right. I have no idea why they decided to take him out (actually I do know it was for DD purpose because in real life he decided not to pitch last year)

If they can't get the dam two way player problem right they should let us have the option for franchise only to edit position players to pitchers and vice versa. then the DD guys can have their Ohtani in one place.

Right now I have a CAP of Ohtani on the angels rosters (his face sucks but there are no good ones in the vault of him as a pitcher) so when it is the 6th day I call up the CAP Ohtani to pitch I don't DH the real one that day. and i send down the 5th starter... once he has pitched send him back down and call the 5th starter back up. and BOOM that's how I can get my Ohtani pitching starts.

Stupid way to do it but they gave us no choice by taking his pitching stats away from us

He will be able to do it. I believe the Angels have gone to a 6 man rotation, and the extra day off in between starts is what Japanese pitchers are used to (they get 5 days between starts as opposed to 4 mostly in the majors).
