I'm assuming the MLB the Show steelbook and cap are for ps4 as well, and if so, count me in now, instead of waiting awhile. anytime I can get a Show hat out of it, I'm all in.

Jackie Robinson edition sounds dope! Also they should add the proper 1947-56 Brooklyn Dodgers uniforms into the game as the only other Brooklyn sets are 1916 & 1944 sets before Mr. Robinson entered the league. Hopefully this is a good sign that the PS4 version (and my Xbox 1 friends) will have some more additional throwback uniforms added to the game.

Jackie Robinson edition sounds dope! Also they should add the proper 1947-56 Brooklyn Dodgers uniforms into the game as the only other Brooklyn sets are 1916 & 1944 sets before Mr. Robinson entered the league. Hopefully this is a good sign that the PS4 version (and my Xbox 1 friends) will have some more additional throwback uniforms added to the game.

im interested to see if they add new classic stadiums for PS5/XBSX or they go w/ the same ones from PS4. I think for PS4 they stick w/ the same ones but add more for PS5. if that's the case, just extra classic stadiums alone may push me over to buy a next gen console for the next gen version.

Correct me if I'm wrong here. This will include the Playstation 4 disc version and also include a download code for the Playstation 5 version. I'm just wanting to make sure that the PS5 version is the full-blown PS5 version, whatever that may be. Also, will I be able to download it on the 16th on the PS5?

There's an all-digital version, and a version where there's a PS4 disc with a PS5 digital entitlement. Either way, you're going to have a digital PS5 version - but you'll need to make sure you got the all-digital one if you have a discless PS5.

And yes, both of these include early access on the 16th. If you have the All-digital version you should be able to download everything a few days ahead of the 16th - usually digital purchases are made pre-loadable a few days ahead of the playable date. They can sit on your system, but you won't be able to actually play them until the 16th. This is the version I got, and right now my console says I have two "MLB The Show '21"s set to auto-download when they become available. One of those is the PS4, and the other is PS5.

For the physical disc version, you'd obviously have to wait until the disc is delivered to you to be able to download the PS5 version entitlement. Whether that day is the 16th or some other time.

I have a disc version of the Playstation 5. And maybe I'm still not entirely understanding here but if I were to use the PS4 disc version, wouldn't that be the PS4 version just up-scaled? I'm assuming I want to just download the game and never use the disc. I plan on giving the disc to my son, who has my old Playstation 4 Pro.

You won't be able to do that. With the physical version, you'll need the PS4 disc inserted when playing the digital PS5 version.

Yes, after you redeem the voucher code for the PlayStation 5 version, the PlayStation 4 disc is still be required to be inserted when playing the PlayStation 5 version of MLB The Show 21.

Also yes, if you just used only the PS4 disc in the PS5 console it would just be an upscaled PS4 version and probably give better performance than it would on a PS4/Pro like MLB '20 currently does. But to get Stadium Creator and whatever other bells and whistles the PS5 version has (we should find out tomorrow), you'll need to download the PS5 version entitlement once you have the disc.
