Tbh I think Showdown and the playoffs in Mto are even more janky than moments. None of them play anything like the normal game though, not really sure why they feel the need to mess with them, just to make them more artificially dificult

Yes I’ve heard complaints equally about showdown and MTO as I have moments (you probably guess I spend a bit of time reading the other forum . The reason they are messed with is because there are DD rewards involved.

MTO is so predictable. You can basically tell from the first inning you play whether you’re going to win or lose the game.

Not to say it doesn’t have potential. It looks great and is fairly enjoyable, but if you go into it expecting it to play fair you get disappointed and frustrated (just like playing ranked seasons or anything DD related).

SDS doesn't want to blow their load prematurely to the Next Gen Reveal feature premiere. They want to build excitement from a marketing standpoint. Unless something gets leaked, we are stuck waiting...

Hope this means Ohtani can be played in franchise like intended.

              This.

Also, that we can make as many two-way players as we want in franchise and such for rosters. If I wanna make every pitcher a two-way player in franchise then why can't I?

yeah, it's a 'hidden' attribute as a quirk for a handful of players but it would be great if they expanded it to a full-tilt attribute instead of just either-or.
barring that, they should make the several quirks that aren't attribute driven at least be able to be assigned to whichever players you choose

Is cross mode integration the reason we don't get carry over franchise? Did they have to write code to accommodate xbox users combined with playstation users?

Will the money they make from that offset the money lost when franchise users don't buy the game?

We don't know why year-to-year carry over saves were turfed. SDS has yet to tell us anything other than "it won't be there in MLBTS 21". At least they told us ahead of time, it would have really sucked to have bought the game only to find out we could not carry over franchises and/or RTTS players from MLBTS 20.

You'd be surprised how small a part of the community is actually not buying the game because of this (or even uses the feature in the first place. I myself haven't used it since the first introduced it years ago). And considering that Xbox users haven't had a "real" MLB game since 2k13? There's no way the amount of Xbox users coming in income-wise wouldn't offset the users not getting it for that feature missing.

Then again, we don't know why it had to be taken out, but I figure they'll explain it.

I don’t think so. Seems like it could easily be worked around.

If you start a new RTTS in 21 that can be your DD player.

If you carry over an existing RTTS that would be offline only.

I don't play RTTS so that I can play DD. If I wanted to play DD, I would just play DD. I hope they did not spend too many developer resources on this feature. Oh and RTTS players created in MLBTS 20 (or earlier) cannot be carried over into the new game.

I know they cannot be. And you won’t be forced to play both RTTS or DD. Video says you can improve player in either game mode.

I’m responding to an earlier comment about how Y2Y saves could have been scratched to accommodate the crossover between the two modes.

I’m suggesting that wouldn’t be the case because it seems like it would be easy to simply say if you did carry over a RTTS from 20 it wouldn’t be used in DD in 21.

Personally, I think they canned Y2Y saves for 21 because of they whole new console they are configuring and rewritten logics for every mode.
