No one and I mean no one cares about MtO. Its just a waste of resources that could be spent on other things. No one wants to play a season in 13 hours. This is just a glorified permanent play the moments simulator. That you could just get out of playing regular franchise.

I never wanted to play it but one day I don’t know I was bored. So I gave it a try. I found it pretty fun getting through that first year quickly then it can roll into a regular franchise. So I wouldn’t say no one.

This is something that needs to happen! the closer position I hate it because the CPU is obsessed with always using the closer in the 9th even if they are tanked. having everyone as a RP fixes this. and with teams using multiple closers this makes sense I hope that is in for franchise as well. it's a good move if this is the case I have wanted that for years.

I just started a new franchise with updated rosters to play until 2021. Started after spring training and had to move Chapman back to closer, Green defaulted there. After couple weeks looked through league....

The logic is now basically highest rated reliever is assigned closer. I think that logic needs work and I don't see how eliminating closer designation helps.

The logic is now basically highest rated reliever is assigned closer. I think that logic needs work and I don't see how eliminating closer designation helps.

It's not the slots that matter though... if you went into a 3-2 game against the yankees in the 9th even if Chapman was in the LR slot the CPU would bring him into the 9th because he has the closer role.

This is the problem right here. get rid of that role. it shouldn't be part of the game anyway. have a look at what teams are doing they are using closers by a committee. if we are going to have closer roles why don't we have setup guys as well??/ the CPU never use the setup guys unless they have a 1 or 2 run lead in the 8th they ALWAYS use the other middle guys. and ALWAYS use the guy with the most stamina in rating for any innings under 5 even if they are gassed... so if your starter sucks and goes out in the 1st innings BOOM the LR with no stamina left will come in the CPU has no BP Logic..

How you fix that?? I dunno as far as the CPU goes. maybe have a option that we can manage the CPU BP ourselves. it's the reason a lot of games are ruined and I can make a comeback

as for your spring training issues. your letting the CPU make all those changes they will screw up all your lineups and bp with some special overall formula. you gotta assign all that stuff yourself if you don't want that to happen.

Well it really depends on the situation of the game. the CPU will panic if a runner or 2 gets on base and go straight to that closer 9 times out of 10. even with a 4 run lead they do it. I think getting rid of that closer role will solve this problem and it will just stick to that slot. but then you probably get other problems as well. their needs to be better BP logic as not to use a guy that's stamina is less then 50% or something like that. so let's say Chapman pitched the last 2 days his stamnica is at about 40%. so it goes to the next slot and use a setup guy... problems solved.

The Yankees have a rule of not using a guy more then 2 days. so something that that would be perfect to put in the A1 logic.

This is where managers need to have an impact on the game outside of the "attribute effects" that they have and name only. Right now, every team has the same style of philosophy, which is disappointing.

This is one of my top priority changes I'm hopeful to see in franchise mode in that not so distant future.

well I think the closer role is starting to become obsolete though yes the yankees and dodgers just use the 1 guy.

but as for the yankees like I said their rule is if Chapman pitches 2 days straight they simply will not use him on the 3rd day. they have had that rule since Joe now with Boone, I really don't think we need a RP or CP. if so why don't we have a LR role and a MRP role? the LRP slot is the most annoying because the CPU will use that guy if the starter doesn't make it in 5 regardless of how tired they are.

that one frustrates me to no end. to the point where I will move the controller across and make the change myself.. only issue is the 3 batter rule min now so I can't do it straight away haha! so if a team has 2 or 3 bad starters in a row they are gonna be rocked to death by then and not recover.

that MLB there is no pitcher limit on the roster in mlb the show 20 you can only have 13 pitchers on the roster.

you will find most NL teams will carry only 4 players on the bench with no DH and have 9 pitchers in the BP so they will carry 14 pitchers. so with the mlb the show game right now for 20 we can't have 9 men in the BP!

the workaround is to have a 4 man rotation and just send your 4th and 5th starter down each time depending on the day they are on to the minors each day when bringing up a starter then you can keep your 9 men BP.

so I wonder if mlb the show 21 will go with the 13 pitcher rule or unlimited M2O will be a issue with the roster updates with this being at SDS mercy with rosters

When the 2020 rule changes were announced prior to the season the corresponding shut down, the rule was that teams were capped at 13 pitchers on the active roster thru August 31st, and then 14 during September call ups.

Yeah I know, but they just announced the rules are in for 2021 as well so just wondering how MLB the show 21 will be with this and what rules they will have for it. hopefully they take the limit out but we will see.

My mistake, the way I read it, I thought you were referring solely to the 2020 roster rules and how they were implemented in MLB '20

As for '21, I would be surprised if there isn't some type of limit placed to ensure that AI teams don't get too out of whack.
