Just finished the year 2020 in my carry over franchise

I played 157 games until I was eliminated and simmed the last 5 games.

The question then becomes do I start 2021 or wait to see if there is a roster transfer that allows work around the lack of a carry over function. I'm guessing there won't be a roster transfer and therefore I plan to start 2021.

I'll spend the $60 I save on not purchasing mlbts21 on getting my lawnmower tuned up.

might as well start up the 2021 season in 20. even if there's a roster file transfer like the one going from 19 to 20, it'll be useless as far as your franchise file carrying over goes.

I've never done a roster transfer. It seems like you could start a new franchise with the saved roster and have essentially the same franchise with a different coat of paint on it. Am I wrong about that?

Re: Just finished the year 2020 in my carry over franchise

Personally I'm still playing my carryover in '20 but that's because I don't want to "waste time/miss games" while waiting for information on '21.

If the information in regards to franchise and gameplay are personal things I'm looking for, then I'll stop my carryover and start over with the hope that Y2Y saves return in '22 and if not, I'll make the decision of whether to keep playing '21 or start anew with '22.

But if franchise/gameplay don't offer up the things that I'm personally looking for, then I'll just keep playing my carryover without having missed games.

I'll just keep going along until '21 gives me a reason to stop. The franchise information is in April, aside for any teasers from the coach and Tatis, so no reason in making a decision at this moment.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

so you're going to lose the 2020 stats you achieved, and then restart with your original 2020 roster in 21? as long as roster transfer is back then that would be doable.

but your 2020 roster won't reflect how you played through the 2020 season in 21. it will revert back to it's original form, as far as stats and trades during your 2020 season played out. and of course, provided roster transfer is indeed back.

I see. I'm illiterate on the topic because I've always just used the carry over. I can't save the current roster as it exists following the 2020 season? If that's the case then there is no reason to purchase mlbts21.

Yup. Pretty much the boat a lot of us are in. Its a shame really. SO much is being lost. I hope its worth it in the long run. But I just don't see it being so.

Still waiting to hear from SDS why the year-to-year carry over saves were turfed and I will forgive them if it was to improve the long term capabilities of the game. What they are doing this year supporting not only two Play Station platforms but also supporting two XBox platforms and allowing cross-platform game play will be an impressive feat for them if they can pull it off relatively bug free.

With that said, they are going to have to pull the rabbit out of the hat to convince me that I should buy MLBTS 21 this year. I do not have a PS5 and it does not look promising to find a PS5 any time before the summer months (or possibly longer). Add on that I would also need to buy a new HDR TV to support the PS5 and things are just not looking very promising on that front. So its easy for me to just sluff off this years game and continue playing MLBTS 20 for another year and see where the cards fall next year. Oh and what also makes the decision not to buy this year's game easier is the release date. Spring Training games inside of MLBTS 20 are set to start next week and it makes zero sense to play these games, start the regular season only to throw it all away when the new game drops in a little over two months from now. Nope it looks like I will skip buying the game for the first time ever since I began playing this game back in 2012.
