Thoughts on importing rosters to PS5

There has been nothing definitive, that I’m aware of, but I wonder if I’m wasting my time. I’m keeping a ROSTER current, free agent signings, etc. my goal is to get a PS5. Do you guys think they will not allow for the importing of a roster file to the PS5 just as they won’t allow us to carry over a franchise?

I think it won't be able to be in the game, because the xbox never had the feature and they wouldn't do 2 separate codes for it and the fact we can't do a franchise import means I don't know why we could do a roster one.

that is my educated logical guess though. I hope I am wrong

Me too ninertravel. I would think I might just stick with playing 20 on the PS5 (if I could ever find the damned thing). Roster accuracy is really necessary for me.

If they cant be imported I think that will have an impact on way more people than even y2y saves.

This is what people don't understand. Y2Y was more about being about to export and import players for rosters it's how the OSFM did it since about 2014 with the CPU roster control trick. last year was the first and looks like now ONLY year we could import rosters from previous years.

I see stupid comments that 95% of people don't care. And that the mode was nothing those people probably will ask 5 times a day 'so when does the minors roster come out??' not knowing this create now hours upon hours of time and work now. think of the 100 missing vets that didn't play in 2020 that you won't be able to export over now with their audio card and stats.

Until they say otherwise I am gonna assume that we won't be able to import anything and that means everything starts from scratch and you won't see any accurate rosters till at least July or August. their is the old taking a video of a player to import him over trick... that takes a good 30 mins per player though, that is the only solution right now and might even be faster then starting from scratch.. however who knows if editing has changed or things are locked. (pray that editing service time stays in the game)

I would stick to 20.. however if they say you can import rosters from 20 into 21 then perhaps you can do some work. I can't see why they would make that option for play station only though, I can't think of any sports game where a option was there for one console and not the other.

This is def gonna be a rough year. Lets just hope the improvements are worth it and that we have y2y saves going forward!

I don't think the fact that the Xbox has not had this game before will stop them form adding the importing of rosters into the game. As long as the roster files stay the same in every way to how they are now I can't see why they wouldn't be transferrable. If they add new items to the roster or remove stuff then I could see that being the issue, but if the roster files are the same then I could see the ability to transfer to 21 remaining.

Based on Madden PC, and the roster structure, I think there is a chance roster saves will carry over.

Not much hope for franchise files, based on teh sepculation so far.

.. we need an external roster editor. That is holding this game back in ways people can't imagine.

Never will happen for condoned, pc versions? Maybe but that be 3rd party people. They don’t like us to have external roster editing otherwise they lose sales for roster updated each year

For half baked, minimal effort companies like the Empire, maybe.

Look at how this product has improved over the years since the jump to PS4.

If the game keeps making forward progress, which SDS has proven it will, the diehards will buy every year no matter what.

.. look no further than service time last year. That changed the game for the better in multiple ways. How did we ever live without it?!

Question is will service time stay in the game though always with next gen upgrades roster take steps back and things get locked again. Where was a time we could edit highl and Weight, I fear service time was a one off won and done thing. When we should be able to edit career stats now and get even more better . So we don’t have the comontstor saying “that’s his first career hit “ for every played even with service time on.
