I would be shocked even on the next generation that we will see any graphical improvements. I say 2022 version you will see that.

Of course there will be graphical improvements. Just maybe not the kind some were hoping for.

Haven’t played a single cross play game yet, was hoping to test it out for online league purposes. I’m in the tech test on both my Series X and PS5. Every casual game I’ve played on both consoles show my opponents console symbol after their gamer tags, and not one was of the cross play variety. I even tried to send a friend request to myself on both consoles, just to see if they would link up. No dice.

For the first time yesterday, I played someone on a PS5. I am on Xbox One X. Couldn't tell any difference. Nicely done SDS!

I completely absolutely disagree with you.

I predict things like grass and dirt, Stadium detail ,Lighting, Player faces, Fans will all have a very nice upgrade over the PS4 version.

I bet the lighting on things like LED boards, jumbotrons will look much better. The player photos on jumbotrons will look sharper. And just overall lighting like Day to night transitions and sun sets will be greatly improved over the PS4 version.

I will say this though I do not think we will be getting new player models in the first year on PS5/X Box Series X. But I do think the player faces and even the bodies will have more detail then ever before.

The PS5 is very powerful compared to the PS4 so I see no reason why San Diego Studios can't take advantage of it even in year one.

I am not saying it will 100% be a Night and Day difference but I am confident you will definitely be able to see a pretty big difference between PS4 and PS5 versions.

All these consoles are basically low wattage PCs.. everything should work well.

                You're gonna be disappointed.

The list of PS5 changes were listed in a post above. They didn't mention any of that. They would've if it was there.

A lot of (subtle) graphical upgrades are never mentioned in posts or as back of the box features.

Also a lot of grapical upgrades gets added really late in the development cycle, thats why that stream is also pretty late.

I am kind of worried though that they only mentioned stadium upgrades where (if you ask me) the field can use the biggest upgrade, but maybe that’s what they also mean with stadiums...[emoji1694]

This man gets it. The FIELD. By now we should have 3D grass and better dirt textiures. Dirt/grass degradation etc. add a level of immersion and realism to the game that is sorely missing.

Also, better lighting (ray traced maybe?) would be icing on the cake.

Eh. If you’re on next gen, loads times and frame rate already make it 1000x improved. Even on my PS4 Pro it was sluggish.. not on next gen. Feels almost as good as my PC games but not quite since I’m at 155hz

Completely agree. The field is by far the most glaring area of need. Grass and dirt has to be improved. That would be a HUGE oversight IMO.
