I wouldn't count on ever seeing that option brought back. Ppl have been asking about that since 2013, the last year to have that, and SDS has never responded or made any mention of it.

One of the reasons why me and some other ppl dislike the batter HR reaction cam is because the somewhat unrealistic TV presentation, and it takes away the focus of the home run itself. At times, you can't even see where the ball lands. During real MLB broadcasts, the camera is usually focused on where the ball lands first, then it shifts to the batter. Or in some rare cases, they'll show the bat flip but immediately focus on the home run ball before it lands.

And for those preaching about integrity LOL, grow up. We aren't talking about finding an old lady's SSI in an envelope on the street...We're talking about a multi-million dollar franchise that seems to hold little interest in anything that doesn't involve micro-transactions.

Ostensibly, it would be a harmless leak. There is literally no competition for this game. Absolutely none. Zero. And people wonder why we don't get meaningful franchise improvements...
It really doesn’t matter if you or I think it’s harmless, people still aren’t supposed to discuss it wherever. That’s what SDS decided. I don’t think any moderators have mentioned this yet, but until one of them says otherwise I’d assume they would do their part enforcing it here for SDS by banning people from here if they decide to ignore it, I mean why would SDS and the devs want anything to do going forwards with a site/platform that lets or encourages users to break their rules.

and back on topic, a couple years ago they put back in the completed catcher to pitcher toss but it's too infrequent for my taste. every time I successfully complete the toss I feel like I won a lottery lol

The irony of telling people to grow up after implying that integrity is a character trait that is applicable on a case by case basis

I know this sounds extremely petty but I probably won't buy the game again until they put the catcher toss back in. It just bothers me that much.

I'm sure you're above reproach without a hypocritical bone in your body. Never gone over the speed limit or downloaded a movie illegally right? Truthfully, I'd posit those are actually more serious offenses than "leaks" over a video game that lacks any competition in the marketplace.

Topic wise...I agree that the ball being thrown back would go a long way in the immersion department.
I'm surprised nobody else misses the full walk up's and step outs also. It was easy to tap X if you didn't want to see it or change out of broadcast mode.

So is the consensus here that the last one that included the ball being thrown back to the pitcher everytime as well as toggling off homerun camera and full walkups, etc. was MLB 11 for ps3?

Seriously considering just picking up a used PS3 at this point. With spring training on the horizon, I am dying to play a hardcore baseball simulation with no compromises.

I am telling you that is the last one that not only had full batter walk ups and step out routines, but also full catcher back to pitcher animations and another presentation option known as real time presentation.

They dumped it starting with 12. They also dumped the full walkups and batter routines. And 12 (which is a great game make no mistake) was when they just started the process of streamlining presentation. It was still very good but that was the start.

Another gripe I've had lately is the fact that no matter which presentation setting you play on, the batting order and defensive alignment graphics don't show up automatically. You have to opt-in to seeing them by holding L2.

If you go out of your way to play on the broadcast setting, those should show up automatically.

Amen! I would love to see the line ups/ defensive alignment pop up automatically like it used to in the older versions. Sometimes the pressing L2 option doesn’t even present itself depending on the game situation.

Agreed. It used to be you could watch a game as a full broadcast on broadcast setting while you’re making dinner or something. Now if you want a full broadcast you have to have your controller on standby.

Making those opt-in for broadcast instead of opt-out, and only those and nothing else, and then even highlighting it as a feature in the pre-release streams was one of the most bewildering things they’ve done. Made no sense at all.

I would even go so far as to say they did it backwards.

As a guy that doesn't have a lot of free time on his hands, I use Quick Counts and Hybrid Presentation, I haven't paid too much attention to the catcher not throwing the ball back to the pitcher. But, as a gamer, the more options the better. Maybe they will put it back in at some point.
