I personally dig the home run camera but I can see why there are those that don't.

As far at the throwing back to the pitcher, I can see that as an immersion killer to some. For me, it is not a big thing one way or the other.

But, I also think that the more options that are in the game the better.

Speaking of options, I don't know why they've essentially taken away our ability to not have the beach ball effect while hitting and playing defense.

Hopefully they've cracked some lighting remedies in the PS5 version so that doesn't appear. It has actually worsened my play more than it has improved it (at least on offense).

I don't love the home run camera, but I do like SOME sort of effect when you really get a hold of a monster HR. I dont know what that is, though. Probably just a crowd "WOW" type effect with a really zoomed out camera angle, like they show on the home run replays that are zoomed out, which are pretty good. When they show the no doubt camera from behind the batter, I can't find the ball.

As far as the throw back to the pitcher, yeah I would like it in every time, but it feels so minor to me I barely notice it anymore since it's not all the time.

Does anyone know the last version of the show that you can watch the catcher throw the ball back to the pitcher after every pitch, not just sometimes? I get they took it out to make the game faster, but I am a sucker for immersion. Oh yeah, and also what was the last year they had the option to turn the homerun camera off? Can't stand how they took these things away.

I'm with you totally on the homerun camera. I have more memories of even the PS2 Show being more immersive than today's game because of tiny details like that. The catcher thing is just like,.. leave it! Who can't just press X if they want to? You keep the stupid ball boy grabbing the foul balls or the fan reaching and never getting the rolling foul ball from the seats but you delete the catcher animation? Makes no sense.
