I really do not know.

I am clinging onto the hope it is in for at least the PS4 as I have no plans on going next gen till at least Christmas 2021

If roster import is in for 21, then I would be more than willing to purchase the game as I am sure gameplay will awesome as usual (slight concerns with the game modes but not nearly as much concern as I had initially).

Having the import feature at least allows us to fully enjoy the gameplay updates with dozens of classic rosters and Bacons Fictional!!!

So let us hope!!!!

Got it! Yep I hope it's in 21 as well... I think this would definitely help out FM team so they dont have to start from scratch.

Oh yeah. If this feature is in for both PS4 and PS5 Ridin and his team can hit the ground running for the Full Minors for 21.

I am just really praying it is in for all the incredible rosters we have on 20 plus Bacon’s work of art. He will be quite relieved if this feature was not removed.

It would really take the sting out of Y2Y being removed this cycle. Big time!!!! I will still play my Yankees Year 5 and Bacons franchise on 20 but start a new Bacons on 21 and play all the classic rosters on 21 that we have from 20....and there are tons.

That’s a good question. It would be a weird design decision if they included it in next gen and not current but who knows. This whole release just feels weird with the late April ship date and everything

I would honestly not be to surprised if import roster is still in for current gen at least. “Hopefully”, and I really mean hopefully the Y2Y were removed due to some kind of franchise mode logic being updated. I don’t see how importing rosters would change effect this. Unless they added new attributes on the player card they have not yet announced. But I doubt it

This exactly. The min I saw that Y2Y saves was not a thing for '21, I automatically knew it would be a hard pass for me.

Yea just dont know, wish they would come out a say something... But I'm sure they won't because we had no idea this was a 20 option until we had the game.

But I can see it being a PS4 and PS5 thing but not being a thing on Xbox since this is the first year.

Usually by now I am excited and have the pre ordered ready and haven't missed a show at all been buying since 2012.

However this year with the later release and the fact I have started a new franchise with no Y2Y carry over has changed things. because the game will be out week 3 of the season. this means rosters will probably not be ready to June or July and when you factor in it's more then likely will have to start from scratch. with no importing. I haven't pre ordered yet. I really don't want to wait till the all star break to start a franchise.

so I will continue to play 20 for now and I might buy 21 later in the year.

Unless they come out and say their are massive changes to franchise and perfect expanded rosters and able to import rosters from previous years. and MLB decide the DH rule is in. I will sadly miss buying it day one this year. I really wish the PS4 version was out mid march. then I may have got that. one.

It's funny you mention that bc I remember people sometimes complaining about the game releasing earlier in March bc they had to wait to get their franchises going since opening day rosters weren't out yet. And now I've seen several people complain about the mid April release date. It just goes to show not everyone can be pleased and we just gotta take what we can get. Also, I meant this all in a general sense, wasn't attacking your post so I hope you don't take it that way.

It's a catch 22. the good thing is in April the missing Vets from 2020 if they have played in the 21 season paperwork can be done and added to the roster.. In March we would have to wait for that to happen a month.

problem is you can't do any roster work till 3 weeks have started in the season this year. and if no roster importing that is a hell of a lot of work starting from scratch

but I don't want to play with the 2020 season schedule again anytime soon. plus there's always a few other reasons I wind up satisfied with a yearly purchase. like cb touched on previously, I want that new Show cap.
so there's that, for one. no doubt there will be more pleasant surprises to come.

plus plus, since I save all year long, as long as I buy one less Dr. Pepper a week for 52 weeks, I'll reallocate that $2 a week to the Show. and as much as I enjoy major league baseball, if I only buy one video game a year, it's going to be the Show, come hell or high water

i will not be buying for the first time on day one as of now. i just feel they are moving away from the ps4 to the next gen and for the ps4 mostly a roster update.

If the roster import function is still intact I will purchase the game. I just do not want to lose all the content this community has poured their heart and souls into.

It really comes down to that for 21. I am highly confident the gameplay will be outstanding as always.

It doesn't worry me as much with baseball being 162 games as much. an 16 week NFL season however that would drive me insane playing that same schedule.

I remember madden on ps2 days there was a way to generate a schedule.

if only the show was out on PC. someone could come up with something like that with a mod. and we could have our own schedules anytime, imagine classic rosters we could use the schedule from that year.

The only problem with that is we probably won’t know until the embargo is lifted, and someone can actually play the game to tell us. That’s like 1 1/2 months away. Awfully long time with that uncertainty. What’s weird with the Full Minors integration last year, I am surprised they wouldn’t reach out to ridin and ask him if removing the import roster idea would be a good idea or not. While I appreciate the integration of FM, last years base roster was sorely lacking and not useable for me
