Figure of speech, ever heard of it? That said here are the numbers...


162 million last gen consoles have been sold so far. (PS & Xbox)
8.5 new current gen consoles have been sold so far, and we all know that a lot of them are being scalped, not actually activated and being played on.

The show basically sells 1 million copies a year which should increase this year due to Microsoft availability.


Let's just pretend that 1% of last gen and 1% of current gen console owners buy the show this year...


last gen = 1.62 million copies would be sold.
new gen = 85,000 copies would be sold.


If those numbers were true and 1% of the owners bought the show this year, then only 5.25% of all sales would be on new gen.

What figure of speech involves the term. 98% ? Lol

Instead of pretending, let’s just go with older sales figures.
First year ps3 and ps4 were jointly sold.

2014 MLB 14: The Show 430,000 (PS3), 730,000 (PS4), 120,000 (PSV)

And besides, I’m not even understanding the point regardless. It’s a feature they said in the past wasn’t possible current gen. Next gen comes out and they implement it for the consoles that can handle it.

Something tells me more than 85k copies will be sold for the PlayStation 5. They’ve already sold over 4.5 million world wide consoles. It’s not all scalpers lol.

Add in Xbox next gen with another 3.5m and I’d say they’ll do just fine and it won’t be 98% of buyers missing out

Somehow I think you may have a change of heart on purchase plans come April.

Hey right now my target date for a PS5 is Christmas. My wife knows I want one....and she is awesome.

As far as 21. If I get confirmation of roster imports still being functional for 21 on the PS4.....I am in. That will ease the sting of losing Y2Y knowing I can jam all the incredible rosters from 20 on 21.

And that means an included upgrade to the PS5 version of the game come Christmas time as I would get the Jackie Robinson Collectors Edition (physical PS4 copy which has the digital PS5 copy).

So let’s keep our fingers crossed for the roster import feature still being alive. That is make or break for me personally. I do not care about starting a current day franchise. Not enough for me to get 21.

And stadium creator looks really nice. Super happy for the folks that love and want that feature. But that is also not my personal deal maker.

This is all I've ever wanted from this game! The first video left me a little underwhelmed, but this one blew that out of the water. This is almost like Planet Coaster levels of customization and it will only get better and better over time. Can't wait to make an Angel Stadium II, some real spring training stadiums and whatever else i want. I was gonna wait on getting a PS5 until they were available in stores but this just changed all of that.

I think I'll go in the opposite direction and make Angels Stadium when it opened! If they've got a St. Louis arch in the game, I can only imagine they have the Big A available as well! If so, gonna see if I can make it the scoreboard again

On that note, this blows away anything I had dreamed up on them having. It also looks extremely customizable for the outfield seats, they look very adjustable (look at the one shot of the stairs like ones when they're placing the solar panels). It looks height and placement adjustable. I thought we might end up limited to where they'd be but.....and I'm probably being overdramatic, but this looks like it's worth the 15 year wait

Pair this creator with expansion or even the ability to make custom league alignments and even have less teams (if I wanted to recreate the NPB over in Japan for instance that has only 12 teams), that would bring this game a lot closer to OOTP in depth, but with the ability to take place in the games.

I haven't been this excited for a game in this series since 17. I cannot wait!

This is a lot more in depth than I thought it would be. I wonder if there will be a limit to how many you can make, for example, can you make a stadium for every minor league team? Also it would be nice if once you create a stadium you could assign teams that would automatically use it, so you could play in them in RttS.

I'm also wondering how many created stadiums can be made/used.

I'd be willing to bet we'll be able to save as many as we want within reason (they may have a limit on how many saves of that type there are though at a time. Like how you can only have like 50 created players saved or whatever the number is).

They may have increased numbers of saves available for each thing as we'll due to the nature of the SSD's the PS5's have for all we know. And I think that for the people bringing up them not adding more jerseys due to memory isn't quite the same. Jerseys bloat the install file. The stadium (I would imagine) would be its own save file and not part of the install. So I think it's not quite the same. Though I'm sure they'll clear it up in the streams.

Not good at this stuff myself, but it looks great.
I can't wait to see what the community comes up with.
Hope you can use different colors to really recreate the stadiums from the past, and especially hope we can place addboards as well, fake adds for sure due to copyright, but at least give us the option to make and place them in the right colors and location.

I strictly play offline with classic rosters, so hoping that all those classic rosters can be transferred. The classic stadiums will really help with the immersion.

That being said : i still don't have a ps5.

Does seating capacity in the stadium you build affect your bottom line? Can you create a team and customize the stadium to your team? I wonder what bugs will present itself. I am certain that when you create a game, certain object in the programming stage are used in conjunction with one another. Will the take this into account with allowing us to build a stadium with such a large amount of options. How will ball trajectory play into the objects? If I hit a homerun, will the ball bounce off of that created placed object or will it clip throw it? These are questions I would like answers to.

I hope in Franchise, it's tied to income somehow. Like, if I'm the Pirates, if I happen to win a lot, it increases my budget, allowing me to add seats to a stadium, which in turn increases my budget some more.
