Seeing as how I won't be getting a PS5 for quite a while, I was wondering if Astroturf could be an option and would it be possible to create the cookie ballparks of the 80's?

my hunch is since it appears SDS been using previous art assets from past years, they could rip the rug out of the Metrodome and use it elsewhere. I doubt there's a world of difference in Astroturf & fieldturf when it comes to video games? because I think Minnesota got rid of their Astroturf before the Show was ever even reborn

I saw MLB 21's Twitter post yesterday, and I'm starting to believe its just one stadium you can build (Either attached to rebranding in Franchise or one for your DD team).


Missed opportunity in my book. Would be cool to be able to save stadiums like rosters, but I guess I don't think about limitations and things like that.

See, here's what I don't get. Why would there be a stadium vault if we can only make one? Worst case, upload the one you make and put it in the vault and make another if that's how they make it.

Me personally, I kinda doubt they'd limit us to one if we have the vault involved. How would we download ones from the vault if we can only have one? They gotta be individual files like players or rosters right? It would be extremely weird and awkward to use if they had it to where it's locked to keeping one at a time, and I'd be willing to bet they're aware of that. They'll clear it up in the streams one way or another.

I feel like in one of their videos about it, they said share your creations (plural).

I envision it being similar to what PGA 2k21 has. Each individual stadium (course) is its own save file on your PS4.

The meters in the corner are likely the same. Can only have so many objects per stadium or so much memory taken up per stadium.

They wouldn't be sharable if we could only do one.

I also think on the selection of stadium screen we just get a new option that says user stadiums, like we have now with minors, classic, and MLB stadiums.

I was planning on doing mostly MiLB stadiums depending on how SDS is handling the minors now. A few teams got dropped and consolidated into that college summer league now, so hopefully the franchise news tells us how that's gonna be structured.

This is what I’m worried about. Such an amazing feature and I fear they will waste it with moronic decisions like tying it to rebranding or not adding it to play now/exhibition mode. It has all the potential in the world but they have a long history of wasting things with bad decisions.

I figure if I am able to use the Nats at Shippett, dressed as the Expos vs. some AA team then maybe it'll be the same for custom parks. Hopefully.

That's what keeps giving me hope for multiple stadiums. There's no point in a vault if we can only have the one slot.

That could be the entire purpose for the vault, actually: you would overwrite any existing park that is saved to your HDD.

That seems like it'd be clumsy implementation to say the least. Someone would have to upload and download their own stadiums (or any others) every time they'd want to play? Definitely possible depending on how big each file would be, but it sounds like that would be tedious over time.

I could see them having a limited number of saved stadiums (3, 5, whatever - depending on file size restrictions), with only one being loaded and "active" at a time, much like roster files.

Obviously we're all guessing here, so who knows? I guess we wait for the streams to detail things.

If that's the only way to do it, then yes.

Maybe you don't have to go online for it per se, like in a vault full of other people's items... but you have your own personal list uploaded to a cloud, and before you play the game maybe it quickly downloads your park.

Or maybe this isn't a thing at all, I don't really know.

Okay, clearly when I'm posting I am crossing wires here. Let me try and clear everything up.

FACT: This game has Stadium Creator on current-gen consoles (PS5, XSX).

FACT: Stadium creations can be uploaded online and SHARED with the community.

SPECULATION: Stadium Creator is only available in Franchise and DD modes.

SPECULATION: There is a sharp limit on the number of stadium creations you can have. It might make sense that if it's only available in those two modes that you can only have one stadium created at a time anyway.

SPECULATION: If we are limited to the number of created stadiums, we may have to have our created stadiums uploaded somewhere online because of memory/storage limitations.

UBER SPECULATION: It is possible we may have a vault of our own to upload/download our own creations without needing to share them publicly with the world, for easy access of loading any of our creations at any time. Maybe we can't store any on the HDD at all, and the way we access and play them is with a quick download (perhaps even on the fly at the stadium select screen).

User created stadiums won't override files of real in game stadiums. That doesn't seem logical and it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. I am sure the real game stadiums are different file types than created if that makes sense seeing as how one can be uploaded and one likely won't be able to be.

There will highly likely be a max number we can save at one time on our system. Think like roster or franchises where we can only have x number of save files.

It would make no sense to have to download them every time you play as I am sure they will be bigger files than something like pga courses are in 2k21.

I am sure that we can save them then load them back into the game from the ps cloud like we can with any save file.

Like I said before it will likely just be a new selection option on the stadium select screen.

I think them mentioning it can be used in franchise and DD is just being said so that we know it means in addition to exhibition mode play as well.
