    Oakland Coliseum Seating Capacity

I've only just recently noticed back in Show 18 the seating capacity for the Coliseum (aka Rickey Henderson Field/Ring Central) was raised from 35,000 to over 47,000. does that make it easier to increase the A's budget if they are playing winning ball and bringing in a bigger crowd?

conversely I noticed in 19 that the Trop dropped its seating capacity significantly also as well too, from 31,000 to 26,000. is it even more difficult for the Rays to compete in the AL East payroll-wise with Boston & the Yankees?

other significant drops over the ps4 years have been at Cleveland's Progressive Field from 42,000 to 35,000.
the Rangers completely switching stadiums, from a 48,000 Globe Life Park to a 40,000 Globe Life Field.
Atlanta with a similar swap, from a 50,000 seat Turner to a 41,000 seat Truist.
a lot of the other stadiums have capacity changes but not terribly drastic as the above

    Re: Oakland Coliseum Seating Capacity

I'm pretty sure budget is based on % of capacity. I relocated to a small minor league ballpark and didn't see any significant change in budget.

The question then becomes what factors impact attendance. I've had a team in first place - which eventually finished second in the division and missed the playoffs - and while it was in first place there was no change to attendance. Some opposing teams seem to draw better than others. I'm using a relocated Pirates franchise and it seems to me the game assumes the fans will be fickle just like IRL. When I play in St Louis there is always a good crowd.

well then, it probably makes it harder on Oakland then, trying to maintain the same % of crowd capacity in a 47,000 seat stadium as opposed to a 35,000 seater. the main reason I'm interested is because I prefer to play Braves games at the Ted instead of the new stadium. but it'd be easier to get a high % of those seats filled at Truist. guess maybe I'll play only Saturday games at Turner Field and the rest at Truist as a compromise.

      thanks, appreciate the input, too

        Re: Oakland Coliseum Seating Capacity

As far as Progressive Field and the Indians, I have had no budget issues paying my players or anything.

But I didn't start using my Indians to a few years ago, after capacity went down so I can't compare it to the before numbers.

Now, I can't go out and sign 3 or more max contracts but I was able to maintain 2 max level contracts for a four year period when everyone else were on team control contracts. I did front load one of the contracts as well.
