20 vs 19 for offline play

I've taken 19 and updated all the rosters through 2019 and 2020 and have been continuing to do so through spring training of this year. I don't make new players because in 90% of cases, the main players on every team are there and I don't need 100% accuracy. The work was over time, but nevertheless, it was time spent updating teams. As I said, for all trades and free agent signings in 85-90% of cases, the players I had to find were there. Why would I bother? I happen to play with the Jays who have had important players become big parts of the team in the last year that weren't there in MLB19 that I had to make. I'd benefit from having those players have their names, faces, etc. I know I could import my roster from 19 to 20 but that wouldn't solve the created players issue. I'd still not be able to get the new versions of them (...would I somehow? Maybe importing and exporting?)
But in-game presentation and gameplay-wise, would I benefit at all as an offline, franchise only player from getting 20? Is there something in 20 that makes Franchise THAT much more amazing?

Simply put the gameplay is the best it has ever been on the diamond. A lot of little things like smoother fielding, better catcher play, far less balls hitting the pitchers back up the middle (best it has ever been). 3-6-1 double plays working smoothly, hitting feels incredible and the crack of the bat when you groove one on 20 is unlike any previous version.

The new scorebug that feeds information on the players at the plate throughout the season was a nice improvement and further immerses you inside your franchise on a day to day.

If you play every pitch and every game it is a true step up on the Diamond. If you do not play a lot and sim a lot then no point in upgrading as the franchise mode off then diamond is identical.

I was going to comment but this pretty much sums it up. If you play every pitch and don't do much simming, 20 is just great on the field game play all around.

That's basically how I play, and all I've played since MLB06 The Show. Season (or Franchise now), sim as little as possible, follow the season as I go along.
Can I really import my whole roster from 19 as I've read? Maybe then, I was thinking, I could export and import new stock players from 20 into that roster. It was just so much work.

Yes you can pull a roster file from 19 to 20.

Keep in mind that any player you crated that now has a scan will still just be a player you created. It won't override a real scan over a created player.

Also, you can not export a SDS face scan player and override one you created. You can only take a created player and override a current player. It only works one way.

Remember this if you are expecting to have a player who did not have a face scan in 19 have one in 20. There are exceptions like if that created player was done by SDS and their player file or whatever it is called matches but that won't happen.

Also remember that any player not in 20 that was in 19 due to retiring or out of the union will become a fake player. Stats will match but that player will go away. It's an MLB union thing.

            Keep in mind that ...
Ok, thank you for all that. I knew that of course the game couldnt replace a player scan with one of my created ones and I wouldnt care so much except for the fact that, like I said, I play with the Jays and 19-20 is exactly the cusp of when LOTS of new players appeared and weren't in The Show 19 (plus Stroman features prominently in 19 when the Jays are selected as your favourite team and I absolutely can't stand him, never have, but that's just a personal thing [emoji1])

Ok, cool. Just the fact that there are things that make the game experience better makes it good enough for me.

            I appreciate the help guys.
