    Created Stadium Question

Been thinking about any limitations for file sizes/number of stadiums we're gonna get on next gen. Anyone have an idea how that might work?

from the video released, it definitely looks like there are limits, by the icons in the upper right-hand screen. Blzer did an excellent deep dive into that video, if anyone has any clue to decipher their meaning.
not positive yet what that threshold is but it'll be interesting to see what corners will have to be cut (if any) when recreating real classic historical stadiums and parks

I too was trying to figure out what info those icons were conveying. I couldn't really piece anything together aside from the SD card with a cross probably meaning it hasn't been saved yet and the one with a bat crossed out maybe meaning it hasn't been played/tested yet?

The one that looks like a bag (the left of the two circle meter ones) might be physical props? But the meter doesn't make sense with the number. You see the shot with the space ship things the number says 52k, and the meter is yellow and about 7/8ths full, then a few seconds later you have the shot showing the placement of trees and the meter is full but says 82.....lol. Maybe the number is physical props and the meter is actual data taken up (the 52k one could be a ton of smaller props while the 82 one could be a lot of large props perhaps).

The second one might be MB of data possibly. Hard to say, but at least it's a little more consistent. (Though, you see the one in the shot placing trees say 169 and full red meter, while the one shot with the huge 3 tiered cookie cutter stadium only at 45 and less than half meter).

I really hope they explain it in one of the streams because it's gonna bug me until I get my hands on it otherwise.

Edit: I watched further and got to the field of dreams part and noticed that it's "bag" icon shows 0 but the meter is over 3/4 full. So I'm at a loss.

I personally feel that since there will be a vault for stadiums, we have to be able to create more than one. It would be extremely weird and awkward to have to replace whatever stadium we've created with a downloaded one just to use it. I'm thinking they'll be treated like a roster or player save file that we can load when needed. That said, there are limits on how many roster files and player files you can save (think it was like 50 players or something last year). They may have that kind of limit though, but they may have raised if not gotten rid of that limit with the PS5 for all we know. Time will tell.

Edit: one last thing to add that I noticed, it does look like foul territory is editable to some degree, seeing the field of dreams foul territory vs the one part where the solar panels are being placed it shows a smaller foul territory and the foul poles further down. So thats good in my opinion.

...Bingo... this is the million dollar question. I'm betting that the memory for created stadiums will be extremely limited (like room for ONE stadium only)...

I would want to create a past season and use similar stadiums from that time (think 1980's and 90's)...

        Highly unlikely though...

My baseball gaming will be tied to table top games and OOTP...

I don't see why there would be memory limitations that would only allow us to have one saved stadium. My thought is the custom stadiums would be saved as a file to our hard-drive and it only needs to be loaded in when playing an actual game. The only limit would be hard-drive space and a max number of save slots. I may be over simplifying the implementation but I don't see why memory would prevent us from creating multiple. That doesn't mean we'll be able to import multiple to a Franchise but I think it could be done from a technical perspective.

I can understand a limit for assets and things like that for each custom stadium though for performance and memory reasons.
