franchise mode split stats vs tot

I was curious if anyone knows why they chose to do tot instead of split stats when you make a trade mid-season in franchise mode... maybe it makes it easier for tracking awards/leaderboard/stats in general, only thing I can think of
final thought, presentation wise, it would be cool if they acknowledge the trade more in the first ab and spoke about his adjustment to the team etc.

Ea had this is 2005...no reason Scea can't implement it.

Not to mention tracking minor league stats and showing both teams plus a total for players who played for more than one MLB team in one season, which High Heat Baseball had in 2001. AND a full list of World Series champions and individual award winners (not this "last three years" stuff. I shouldn't have to keep a spreadsheet to do what a video game should do on it's own) which Hardball 3 had all the way back in 1993. Unfortunately, these things don't seem to be important, which puzzles me. Baseball is a game of history, and baseball fans eat this stuff up.
