I'm with you, I love everything I heard. I know people are going to be disappointed but I feel like they are changing the infrastructure of how franchise works. Not everything is going to change in 1 year. Good strides are being made here. Be patient people[emoji4]

It looks like they fixed minor league options as well which was something that plagued the whole logic because teams could like send down veteran players who irl have no options left.Comment

I grabbed a screencap.
Bottom row (except Varo) are all new sponsors.
Tater - bats
44 - gloves/elbow guards (the big plastic ones)
G-Form - elbow guards (the spandex ones like Ian Happ uses)
B45 - bats
Dinger - bats
Easton - well, everything

Player value logic and budget changes were definitely needed. But honestly the weakest part of franchise to me is the draft and how these players progress. And once again, it doesn't seem like they touched upon it.
The other thing that I found odd was they didn't mention the roster or OSFM. I'm assuming they have Ridin and team working on the minors again this year much like last year, but they didn't touch on it at all. You'd think with releasing a month after the season this year, the day one roster patch could be pretty accurate this year if they wanted from a minor league standpoint.Comment

When I heard the word "core" muliple times in the first segment I knew there weren't going to be huge, groundbreaking additions at the surface. They may well have overhauled it like that first PR release said before the edit, but it only seems like an overhaul to them. To the end user, they only see the feature list and think not much was done. Perception is everything.
It sounds like they're taking steps towards future improvements within the mode. And I do think the changes to the core of player eval could be enough to force Y2Y out, at least temporarily. That affect so much of what goes on behind the scenes in franchise. Hoping they still address Y2Y at some point.

In the past it’s been too easy to trade for desired players. Now if performance is included in a players projection that ‘c’ potential player that’s over performing should be more difficult to trade for. I like that.
I also noticed untouchables on the trade screen. Hopefully the CPU designates untouchables on their rosters as well.

I think the franchise stream was good. I think this is ground breaking to what franchise can be in 2022. The trade logic and screen is a nice update. I like how we can target players or types.
Maybe this was asked before, but with stadium creator or edited, it looks like I can change any stadiums. So if I want to have the White Sox play in the Giants ballpark, will that ballpark still have the Giants logos?Follow me on Twitch

I guess I'm very easily pleased...
30 slots for stadiums, logic for trades and player value update are small, but victories.
I think it was Joshc who said it best. If your focus is simming seasons and quickly moving through the mode, OOTP is your game. The Show has great gameplay and that's where you're going to get the most out of the game. The mode does enough for you to "be a GM", but actually playing the game is the best part of Franchise mode in MLB The Show.Comment

Nice new menu's as you would expect a new gen product to have. Stadium creator for those that want it is obviously the big selling point. Yet overall its just the same game, repackaged for another year and still short on all the various things that people have been requesting for years....... Building new stadiums will soon become a tired feature, just like the same yearly current commentary team. The game seriously needs a kick up its franchise backside. For the price of a new console and the cost of buying the game from new, you deserve more than this or maybe the peak has been reached and SDS are just stretching their limitations to its actual limit. '20 was good and there are some small changes on field, but the presentation team wants a huge lift and it doesn't look like its coming this year either.
Congrats to the team for all the work they put in , but they seem to hit have their limit on attracting a new audience, beyond the Xbox crowd, as they keep producing the same tired PS4 game, with small tweaks and repackaged with new menus and without a PS5 you don't even get the major selling factor 'Stadium creator'.....Comment
