I'm really curious to try the Cloud version to see how playable it is in terms of latency. Would definitely bring back some PSP vibes which is where I first played The Show, plus it sounds like Cloud is coming to PC soon according to MS.

Cloud streaming is coming to PC this spring according to MS, so it should at least be technically playable on PC. Hopefully the latency won't be too bad.

If the latency is not bad, which is a huge if, then I'm going to be in heaven. I'm not going to get my hopes up as I expect latency to be noticeable enough, but if it actually is smooth and we can stream the next gen version, then I won't be able to give enough kudos to MS.

Surprised no one has brought this up. I wonder if it’s going to be the next-gen, PS5/Series X version of the game or if it’s going to be the old-gen, PS4/XB1 version.

My guess is old-gen, but you never know

I think only 2k has come up w/ their contrived setup to get around MS's mandate that you don't pay for next gen upgrades/patches.

Cloud streaming can work really, really well. xCloud currently is a little clunky though as they work towards the full rollout. If you'd like to test out your connection on a more seamless (at the moment) service that you can try on PC, check out Amazon's Luna - https://www.amazon.com/luna

Great news and honestly, a smart move by both Microsoft and SCEA to get this game out and available to as many people as possible Day 1.

It is rather annoying as a PS player to pay full price while Xbox users get it as one of many games on GamePass.

That being said, if it is a limited time deal then I could see it being a decent decision. Get players hooked on Diamond Dynasty, let them build up a team and then the game gets removed from Game Pass 3 or 6 months down the line. How many of those players then will then turn around and buy it so that they don't lose the team they built up? It's like a drug pusher. The first taste is free.

Sorry but you had free choice of what next gen system you wanted to buy. I feel your pain though as an xbox user since the 360 came out, I really wanted the Show, so I had to buy a PS3 and a PS4 just to play. I'm just glad something baseball related goes the way of Xbox users this time.

Will The Show on Xbox have Sounds of the Show? Will the vault be cross platform?

I have both the PS5 and Series X but if the Xbox version is missing SOS and I can't get Ridin's rosters, it still might be worth it for me to pay $70 for the PS5 version.

Its more of a $15 rental. Gamepass doesn't give you the game forever and this title likely won't be on there for even the entire length of the season.

Not everyone had a "free choice," though. This console launch felt more like a lottery. I think PS owners can be both cool with an exclusive going to XBox but salty it's on Game Pass. Even the XBox IGN podcast crew a few weeks ago dismissed the idea of the Show going to Game Pass. This news came out of left field, pun intended.

I'm so intrigued with learning the corporate details of how this went down. Hope we find out!

Just insane news. I wonder how much MS paid, but also I wonder if SDS sort of was into it just for this first year to make sure the net is cast wide and far so it's an easier sell to folks when it's maybe not on GP next year.

Yep, this was my thinking when I heard the news that this would be a great way to grow the Xbox install base out of the gate. Give folks a few months to play the game on GP and then next year, they'll be inclined to pay for the game at launch.

I just canceled my GameStop preorder which had been paid full after reading about this, I'll be adding Game Pass to the Xbox Series X.

Same here. Game Pass on PC is pretty much all I play these days.
