    MLB 20 vs 21

I was really excited about MLB 21 this year since I didn’t get 20 last year but looking at some of the things they took out I was a little disappointed.

I mainly play Road to the Show and Franchise but it looks like they’re two modes that they are either not focusing on or caring about anymore. It’s all about diamond dynasty, even RTTS is incorporating diamond dynasty this year.

For someone that is mainly getting the game for RTTS and Franchise, is it worth it to get 21 or am I better off saving my money and just buying 20 for $10 and just update rosters?

if I were interested in saving money (and I'm not lol) I'd go w/20, pick up 21 when it hits $20

21 is starting reminding me of madden 13 the game that killed the franchise.. it’s not just me skipping 21 too I’ve seen heaps on here which I’d unusual. all starting with y2y Saves removal o hope I’m wrong but if it is better not be 8 years counting of a downfall,

Ok....I gotta call this one out. Road To The Show has received a lot of love over several cycles now and this upcoming cycle they added for next gen 180 different dynamic video Podcasts with former major leaguers and MLB network....dude that will take the immersion of Road To The Show to a new level. That is the single most impressive feature they have added to the game for MLB 21 IMO.

Franchise? Yeah...won't argue with you there too much. Some decent Quality of Life improvements (Depth Chart screen and Budget screen) and supposedly better trade and contract logic. And of course the Stadium Creator tools which was a longtime community ask.

MLB 20 is a fantastic game and if you are a franchise player (and love classic and fictional roster content) 20 will give you the greatest bang for your buck. Especially if you are playing it on the PS5. Simply awesome. There are some great updated rosters too for the 21 season in the MLB 20 vault.

However if you love Road To The Show I would absolutely pick up MLB 21 and get into a few different builds and enjoy the new immersion the Video Podcasts are sure to add.

I really wish they would do that sort of thing for franchise mode in terms of having a dynamic hot stove video podcast based on trade rumors, contract extensions, etc. Also make a post season podcast as your team moves though the Wildcard or LDS and LCS series and of course the World Series. Things like that would add so much flavor and life inside the mode off the diamond.

        Anyway. Hope that helps.
