    Re: Next-gen reveal expectations

I’m going to be an optimist here. I saw a definite graphical difference going from 20 on the PRO to the PS5 and I realize nothing really translates properly with screen shots, or Youtube uploads, so not sure how they will pull it off to convince us of graphical upgrades, but it just can’t look like the transition from the PRO to playing 20 on the PS5. Has to be an improvement. We’ll only truly know when the game is downloaded into the PS5.

Less blurry for sure I can't stand depth of field stuff in video games

Was it overdone yes but it made sense because the wind dictated it and most games were set to windy at default to really show off the feature...

grass that looks like pes or Fifa
      less blurry

      everything else looks ok still

unless sky textures can also be revamped

and then there's snow in April!

        Player models
        Face scans
        New hair and beards
        Stadium visuals
        Dirt and grass visuals

I imagine this is where Kirby st. John and Mike get there 30 mins talking about sounds, displays, fans, audio etc.

But it's exactly what it says it is "GOES NEXT GEN". It will be all about PS5, XBOX X, SERIES S and the actual game next gen game for each next gen console not them showing us in PS4, XBOX One.

Which they showed brief game play supposedly, but I think they were holding back until this premier.

From what I have played and seen there's graphical improvements of what I listed anywhere between 15%-30%.

Now is some of it jaw dropping or on the fifa or NBA 2k levels for scans? No ,but they definitely look and feel so much better , just something about them on PS5. The players scans and around the ball park environment kinda like I've said you gotta see and play it yourself to get that true experience.

Maybe it's just me, but I notice how the game has changed for 21 for the better. Not mind blowing or exactly jaw dropping but very noticeable difference.

Well, he was talking about the grass.

But unfortunately for you, you're going to see this a lot more in next-gen now that developers have more processing power to deal with. You can see that aperture really take it to the limits in those on-deck shots. I'm sure we'll see it a lot in replays, as well.

I bet you really hated this camera in NFL games at the end of this year too, eh? Haha.

After plaing Astro’s Playroom I think the haptic feedback could add a lot of immersion to the game!

For example, when running you could feel the difference between grass and dirt (Astro’s playroom does this when walking in sand pretty well), a light haptic tap when catching a ball, a subtle rumble when sliding or diving. In Astro’s playroom the controller even mimics wind so maybe some haptic feedback could kick in when catching fly balls in SF [emoji1]

Biggest haptic would be batting, if you hit it off the end of the bat, or the handle it should rattle, whereas the sweet spot there is almost no feeling. that would be pretty cool.

All the meanwhile if we could leave these enabled but disable any vibration when you're on the corner of the strike zone pitching.

This shouldn't be an on/off universal setting for all kinds of haptic feedback, basically.

Yes! Been wanting an option to turn off strikezone vibrations but leave it on for other vibration feedback for some time now.

No excuse not to have it in there, even if it's basic like Madden and FIFA.
Haptic feedback is going to be in. They had it in during the tech test

Hoping there are some Easter Eggs to showcase at tonight's 6PM EST stream focused on Next-Gen...

It's looking like 90% of it is stadium-creation and 10% being a slight-texture update on player & uniform resolution...I hope I'm wrong, because when I pop in The Show '20 on my PS4 Pro it looks and plays butter-smooth fantastic...but that is last-gen...

...I'm anxious to see the differences visually in the PS4 Pro & PS5.
Currently playing on PS5 & XBOX SERIES X:
                                • EA Sports College Football 25 - PS5
                                • MLB The Show 24 - PS5
