Are you sure you downloaded the PS5 version after redeeming the code? To check, go to the PSN store page for the standard PS5 version. Instead of purchase, the screen should say "Download" (or redeem I can't remember). Once you select that, it will download the PS5 version. The download was approximately 48GB. After it downloads, you can switch between the versions by selecting the ... next to Play. When you click the ... you'll see the option to switch the one you are not currently on. So if you're playing the PS4 version, in the ... menu, you'll see PS5 (or vice versa). Click the one you want then Play.


Once in-game, along the top of the menus is "Create" (as a paint brush icon). Click that and you should see Stadium Creator in the drop-down if you're playing the PS5 version.

Okay awesome mine didn’t say purchase. It said download. I just thought since it was the ps5 standard edition I would have to wait till Tuesday. Mine is still downloading another hour to go

Don’t see any of it that PS5 right now is just confusing..thank you though for your patience...I’m just out of luck here

Sweet...closed the game, looked around the store for a solution, went to start the game and now it's locked, acting as if it's the base version and it isn't out yet.....this is awesome....

Anyone have any luck with this? Sony just tells me to put the cd in the system. No option to upgrade from the ps5 menu or in game that I can see so far. 4 days Early, first day spent ripping my hair out instead of playing...

I’m going to try to uninstall and try this again with the code for a PS5 version..

After I put code in ( and I don’t think the code I have a 12 digit on the pamphlet -has anything to do with the PS5 download personally) then what do I do next , because last time I hit redeem and no download option was available...

If this doesn’t work I’m taking the game back to game stop and purchasing the 4/20 release for PS 5
Way too much work..

No download button ever appeared for me either, but the packs and extra stubb's show up....only thing I'm missing is the ps5 upgrade.

Dumb question, but I have to ask, are you trying this from a PS5 console? There was an individual in discord last night trying to get his PS5 upgrade downloaded even though he only owned a PS4.

I am having the same issue on my PS5. Just spent 3 hours with Sony tech support chat with no results to fix it and then I got an “that’s all we can do to help. Thanks bye.” Waisted at least 5 hours on this now!

Dumb question, but I have to ask, are you trying this from a PS5 console? There was an individual in discord last night trying to get his PS5 upgrade downloaded even though he only owned a PS4.

Lol I totally can see someone doing that, but in this instance, I'm trying to upgrade to the ps5 edition while on my ps5 console.

Well, I'm out of ideas and wish y'all the best of luck going forward. Before I go though, I'm going to list the exact steps I took after picking up my Jackie Robinson edition (physical) from Best Buy yesterday morning:

1. Turned on PS5. Put the disc in the tray.
2. The patch downloaded automatically, but the 'Play' button was replaced by 'Copy'. So I clicked 'Copy'. The copy and install process took ~5-7 mins.
3. The 'Play' button now appeared; however, the title of the game was MLB:The Show 21 PS4. As an FYI, there was an icon on the right side of the screen for the PS5 version of the game and showing $69.99.
4. I went to the PSN store on my PS5, went to Options->Redeem Code.
5. I entered my code and screen came up saying 1x MLB:The Show 21 Jackie Robinson edition bonuses.
6. When I went back to the game screen on the homepage, the button under the PS5 version icon now said 'Upgrade' (instead of the price). I clicked 'Upgrade' (it may have said 'Download', I can't remember)
7. The PS5 version downloaded and installed in about 5-7 mins.
8. On the game screen, I clicked the ... next to 'Play'. In the drop down, the third option said 'PS5 Full Game'. If you've played FIFA on PS5, it works the same way if you want to switch between PS4/PS5 versions. I think the other options are 'Follow', etc.
9. Started the PS5 version of the game, accepted the terms, set to simulation, then was greeted with all my goodies (which I didn't care about lol).
10. Deleted all the MLB:The Show 21 PS4 game content because it was 50GB of wasted space.

I'm sure the way I did things is similar to y'all, but I wanted to share in case someone missed a step. It sucks y'all are having issues getting what you paid for and hopefully it'll get sorted out soon.

Go to search in the Ps5 store. Type in MLB the show and under the standard edition for ps5 it will say upgrade and click that

Did you buy the disk JR version in hopes of playing it on the digital? The disk is required to play it for any disk version purchased.
