Cards Drop Series Finale vs Reds

Mike Moustakas had a pair of HR and all four RBI for the Reds on Sunday and that would be all the offense needed in a 4-2 victory.
Reds SP Tyler Mahle(1-0) allowed 2 ER through 5IP and struck out 11. He was pulled from the game in the 6th with right elbow discomfort and his status is still unknown for his next start.

St Louis SP Miles Mikolas returned to the mound for the first time in nearly 18months after a long road back from forearm surgery. Mikolas turned in 5IP allowing 4 ER all stemming from a solo HR in the 2nd and a 3 run HR in the 4th by Moustakas. Mikolas kept his pitch count low and induced 3 double plays on the afternoon. He will look to build on that performance in his next start.
The Cardinals head to Miami to take on the Marlins for 3 games. Kwang-Hyun Kim will get the ball in game 1 against Marlins pitcher Trevor Rogers.

      Injury Update
RP Jordan Hicks was diagnosed with nerve inflammation in his neck and is considered day-to-day. It is hoped that a stint on the IL will not be required. Hicks will be re-evaluated in the days to come

Are you guys drawing many walks? It seems like the pitchers pound the zone a lot more in Hall of Fame.

I'm at work right now, but I'm in the Top 10 or 12 in baseball in walks drawn thru 9 games

The Reds offense comes alive in the series vs the Giants!

            1-2 L (Gray 1-1; Cueto 2-0; McGee S,8)
            12-1 W (Castillo 3-0; Sanchez 3-1)
            12-2 W (Mahle 2-2; Wood 1-2)

After Cueto was dominant the first game my oh my how the offense FINALLY came alive. Scoring 12 runs each of the next two games. We hit 9 HR in those two games. The wind played a factor in both games to help. I hit probably three of my most impressive HR in my MLBTS playing career lol. 460ft shot by someone I can't remember now. Which was topped by a 462ft HR by Saurez next game. Aquino hit a 450ft blast CF that landed up in the river boat deck...never seen that before! And the bat sounds on MLB 20 sound so crisp and beautiful when I hit those moon shots.

Jesse Winker on the 10 day IL was a blessing as Max Shcrock was brought up from AAA. He has speed we need so badly and he came up and had 3 hits and 2rbis the third game game of the series.

Now I have decided to put India down into AAA when Winker returns. India has hit a woeful .085 this season to start his MLB career. 47ab as well so I will have Schrock up as his replacement.

We are now 12-6 and 2.5gms up on the 10-9 Cubs in 2nd place.

Up next is a trip to NY to face the Yankees! Crazy enough, the Yankees are struggling just like real life. They sit last in the AL East with an 8-11 record. Only 2.5gb however in a super tight division. Some great pitching matchups ahead in this series.

Moustakas, Saurez, and Votto carrying the team offensively this series. Castellanos had I believe one hit all series. Barnhart was solid, but these three were knocking in every run it seemed.

The Indians with the big move of signing Robert Osunam who immediately step into the closer role. They SP and bullpen is by far their strength. They are 10-7 loo, looking, up at the surprise Royals off to a hot 12-4 start. The Ohio cup will be fun as I look forward to the match up vs Cleveland later in the season.

Meanwhile the Reda are 10-5 a d 2.5 games up on now the Cubs and Brewers, who tie for 2nd with a 8-8 record. Up next for us is a continuing home stand as we host the Giants in a three game series. The Giants wow are 10-6 leading the division. Dodgers sit 4th with a 8-8 record! Craziness going on all over the majors in just two weeks into the season.

Sitting 10th in the MLB with 67 walks through 18 games played. But, other than one game I do play with quick counts on. It wouldn't matter honestly, but just a preference to help speed up the game a bit. Most counts start 1-1 so I'm working walks a good amount still.

I play on HOF and I draw about 2-3 walks per game. Sometimes 4.

I’m going to start up a franchise pretty soon. Hopefully today or tomorrow, stay tuned for my normal updates as I’ve done in years past.

I’ve been trying to decide actually if I want to play 21 or just play 20. Last year’s game was just about perfect.

Oh just something I did after watching how badly Amir Garrett is this year so far. I edited his control down on his slider by -10, and his bb/9 I lowered by 5. He is a 78ovr closer. In reality my bullpen has probably overachieved thus far.

I would imagine the struggle bus is coming sooner rather than later.

I won't normally do this type of editing but if I feel a guy is already overrated and then struggles irl I usually will drop his attributes wherever it makes sense to. Rosters I have already have been re rated and are awesome though. Wish I could call in to work and play lol

That's one of my struggles with 21 honestly compared to 20. In MLB 20 there will be no more updates. We know what we have.

I have to decide which one provides more of what I'm looking for.

Advantages of MLB 20 are.... knowing the gameplay is exactly what I'm looking for. Sounds of The Show works.

Advantages of MLB 21 are... David Ross is in the game and last year's stats are correct and updated rosters.

I have to say if there was a way to play MLB 20 starting in the 2021 season with the correct stats/results from last year, I'd probably be doing that.

I think I enjoyed MLB 20 more than any other game to date.

I hear you. MLB20 is an absolutely great game. And I'm still playing a franchise in there until these bugs are fixed on 21. I just started a Cubs franchise there and I'm 5-5. I'm using McNaulty's 21 roster so I have an updated roster which his roster is awesome. One nice thing is about 20, the schedule is new cause they never used it since the short season.

One small thing I noticed is the scoreboards in the stadiums greatly improved from 20. That is a small thing but I like it. All the stadiums you see keep track of LOB. Now, most stadiums in 21 have that in the game where they didn't in 20. Check Petco Park and Yankee Stadium out. The scoreboard in SD is really cool. Even the Giants park keeps track of MVR in the game. That is cool but I believe the number is 7 and they put 2 there.

They did a really good job on David Ross. I'm surprised they even have Tony Larussa in the game.

I know you are wanting to start your Cubs franchise but play 20 for now and wait a couple of weeks for 21 to improve. At least until Ridin's roster comes out.
