MLB The Show 21 Franchise Discussion Thread

Time to get the new year started!

I'm playing with traditional DH rules and the extra innings runner rule on.

Spent this morning getting my roster set the way I want it and now its time to play ball!

Currently playing the Nationals in Spring Training at Statesman Park. My minor league "home" ballpark. [emoji4]

Follow along, share your experiences and lets get ready for another year of MLB The Show baseball!

    Good luck everyone!

Read in another thread, we can't do 14 man pitching staffs... Guess it only works in play now or something.

I gave RTTS a chance, but the camera view and fielding just didn't do it for me. So on to the main Show...franchise mode.

I am looking to roll with the Giants. Hoping to bring them out of mediocracy this year and set the team up for another championship run in years 2 or 3.

I’m going to do a franchise with my Jays. I messed around with the roster first as well, had to add Austin Martin and Raphel Dolis, not sure Why they weren’t added, but I’ll be starting one tonight!

1-0 with the Cubs. Hit a grand slam in the 8th inning in a tie game with Bryant won 6-3.

In another franchise that is on hold due to the no night games in created stadiums but I hope becomes my main one I rebranded Oakland as the Las Vegas Aces my first game when into extras and I won a sac fly.

I gotta admit I’m not a fan of the runner on 2nd inning in extras in real life but I love it in the game.

Cards open Spring with shutout win over Nationals

The Cardinals got the Spring off to a good start with a 4-0 win over the Nationals. Nolan Arenado (2 run HR) and Tyler O'Neill (solo HR) both went deep for the Cardinals and Harrison Bader added a RBI single to tally the Cards scoring.

The pitching staff was dominant today striking out 11 batters with Genesis Cabrera fanning 4 of the 6 hitters he faced.

Jack Flaherty was solid in 2 innings of work striking out 2, and allowing 2 hits. He did not issue a walk.

The Cardinals will now play visitor to the Marlins. Adam Wainwright is expected to start on the bump.

Really excited for The Show as I got it on XBOX ONE this year - I have 2 questions as I decide which franchise to use this year - I would like to play as a GM this year instead of controlling one franchise - has anyone played as a GM? Is it worthwhile to do so? Thanks to all who reply.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Franchise Discussion Thread

I'm waiting til Monday to get it -- my main question is on player progression. In the past, it seemed like a drafted player could never be a star before their mid 20's, and A prospects usually pan out and anyone B or lower never became a star.

Anyone who sims seeing any differences in progression/regression with the new player logic? I'm hoping the performance factor helps to get more real-to-life ratings for players.

Any other observations so far that differ from last year?

I went standard PS4, so I have a few more days to wait. Going with the Braves (as always). Interesting seeing CB going with the DH on; I'm leaning toward going with it off this year after playing with it on last year.

I'm not deleting 20 until I'm sure I like 21. I have my old franchise on standby just in case.

Got a Mets chise going today on PS5 next gen.

Sitting 9-8 right now, playing 1 game per series. Just jumped in with the roster, playing on dynamic difficulty starting at Allstar (currently at Allstar + hitting and HOF pitching as of now). Just scored 23 runs on the Rockies and hit 3 homers with Lindor, so excited to get back it. LFGM
