I've had the same thing happen. Great fun! Now we gotta remember to save after each game before simming to the next day. Especially if you have, for example, three quality SS on the roster. The CPU will think, 'Oh, you clearly have too many. There's no way that you could be DHing one of them and the third is your backup. Let me trade the best long-term option away for you.' Awesome...

Are you using 30 team control?

Posting this here to see if tabarnes can help.

I used to play 30 team control, with 1 setting for the Pirates and a different one for the rest of the teams, just to control things like trades and contracts, but now when I create a new file setting it won't stick for the other 29 teams, or sets my Pirates setting like the rest.

Is there a bug with this or I am doing something wrong?

Make sure while in franchise you are going to settings > scroll to the three dots on the right > presets associations > and then assign the appropriate profiles.

It should work the same way as before. I create 2 profiles assign the cpu profile to all teams(I actually make cpu profile the default one) and then have a profile I use for my team.

When starting a franchise there is that redundant options screen. I make sure everything is on auto there as well. Once I enter the franchise you need to still go to settings-mode specific and change drafting to auto. For some reason it changes it to manual.

The not calling up someone after an injury issue is the only issue really bothering me in Franchise at the moment.

Saying that since I have 30 team control on, I just go in and try to figure out a call up that makes sense in each situation.

Doing some deeper testing in the offseason and I'm seeing some issues with arbitration a few years down the road.

Many players are accepting low contracts in final year of arbitration. Kory Lee a 99 overall with 5 years MLB time accepts 8.2 mil. As well as others that are highly rated and final year.

Devi Garcia a 94 overall with 5 years service time accepts 6.2 mil coming off 2 season of 20 plus wins.

Their contracts should be at least double what they are.

It seems to be a product of not offering arbitration correctly from first year eligibility on appropriate value. You can see Sanchez in the video making more on his 4th year than Lee does on his final year.

The rules of not paying less than the year before are correct because after year one you can see that Judge and Turner win their arbitration cases and make more. That is because the rosters have a higher contract value, their real one.

This is the most important thread on this forum rn imo. When people ask “what do you think needs to be fixed in franchise?” these are the answers. This is the stuff to fix. Great work in here OP, and glad to see *some* stuff is actually performing better this year.

One question I wanted to ask in regards to CPU not calling someone up after injury, if it still happens when AA gets started in May? I know its a long shot but was hoping maybe there was something about the start times being vastly different that was triggering the bug until AA started and then it would correct.

It happened all year in mine. I was checking weekly and making moves for all teams. A bit tedious but not terribly time consuming

The playoff dl issue as well is a big one. I believe many of these will be resolved.

Some other issues may be a result of the rosters having too many high potential players that cause havoc.

I like your optimism. However, SDS track record of fixing franchise bugs is not great. The playoff injury bug was a problem for at least 5 years and never got fixed. Unfortunately I am afraid we are stuck with what we have for this year and possibly in the coming years as well

Roster and DL I believe there is a fix for and if playoff DL can be fixed in a patch, it will be. They are actively looking into many of these.

Honestly many of the changes this year are a result of trying to fix some legacy issues that the community has pointed out.
