Is franchise trading broken?

I was able to make (didn't actually make them just had the other team agree) to some pretty wild trades.

Using the braves I offered the Angels ozuna, inciarte, and maybe some throw in minor league pitcher? Or either ozuna and Inciarte alone for mike trout and the Angels were good to go.

The Angels would never trade trout and definitely not for that.
Seems like you can go get anyone you want for little value lost.

Also haven't seen the morale page like some have posted. Hopefully it's gone. On 20 Freeman would get mad when I hit him 2nd in the lineup (where he actually hits) because he wasn't the "star". Then certain guys wanted a star spot who had no business wanting it. Hope it's gone.

The trade function is broken for me too. I hope they fix it. I'm sure I could've possibly given up some lesser players for the guys I got. I intend to get these guys whether fixed or not when minor league rosters are loaded. As the Brewers, I traded:

SP Brett Anderson, OF Tristen Lutz, and SP Zach Godley for 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

3B Lucas Erceg, 1B Keston Hiura, and C Jacob Nottingham for 3B Jose Ramirez.

Ramirez was a little more challenging to get. I just can't live with Shaw and Hiura at the corners.

The trade function is broken for me too. I hope they fix it. I'm sure I could've possibly given up some lesser players for the guys I got. I intend to get these guys whether fixed or not when minor league rosters are loaded. As the Brewers, I traded:

SP Brett Anderson, OF Tristen Lutz, and SP Zach Godley for 1B Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

3B Lucas Erceg, 1B Keston Hiura, and C Jacob Nottingham for 3B Jose Ramirez.

Ramirez was a little more challenging to get. I just can't live with Shaw and Hiura at the corners.

When did you make these trades? July? Teams that are in rebuilding mode tend to look to trade guys in final year. I believe the system sees arbitration and renewable players as final year, you can see this when a player is traded, I think players need to be tagged by contract and 5 or more years of service time.

Look at the positions and if there are other players that are in the same position. Teams like Toronto trade Bichette all the time because they see him as final year and they have Seimen.

Really take names out of the equation when evaluating trades. Look at roster construction, mode the team is in, and potentials of the players being traded.

There are flaws, but in real life the Rockies traded Arenoldo for little, Yankees got an MVP Stanton for a bucket of balls. Salary relief is also a big part of the trade.


The Ramirez trade is not horrible. You are offering a 75 overall A prospect and 2 other B prospects for Ramirez.

On other threads, I'm reading that there are problems with wrong stat overlays when players come up to bat. Is this happening in franchise mode?

And now Yankee fans boo Stanton.

In my carry over franchise the Padres signed Rendon and then immediately put him on the trading block where he remained for the season. I wanted him but couldn't acquire him due to self imposed trade restrictions.

It seems like the logic that caused them to put him on the trading block should have a conversation with the logic that acquired him via free agency.

I started a Franchise with the Royals and simmed the first season.

During the first series of the 2022 season, I played the Reds in Cincinnati.

The first game had the correct on field opening day logo. When I went to play the second game of the series, instead of the on field opening week logo, the 2021 Postseason logo is showing up on the grass.

Hopefully this will be fixed soon (I did post it to theshownation.com as well)

The series recap has the wrong scores and will actually have 3 games on there when it is the 3rd game of the season. Also m, the announcers will say you are going for the sweep in the 2nd game. I reported it. It will be a nice touch when it is corrected.

Not the stat overlays for batters, but I played game 3 of a series last night and they kept talking about me sweeping the series even though I lost the first two games.

How do you change teams in Franchise Mode?

If you select all 30, the settings are also for all 30 meaning if my free agency is manual so is every other team, this obviously doesn't work.

Any work arounds?

You have to create a second profile and assign that to the teams you want the CPU to control. Go to settings and you can hit either r1 or r2 to switch profiles and make that your "cpu" profile. Then do team assignments and assign that profile to the CPU teams

Franchise mode is like Chet Hanks. Sure Tom Hanks (SDS) loves him, but you can tell he wished he had another son just like Colin (DD).

Really hope these get fixed soon. The salary issue is especially weird as I don’t really understand why good players are sometimes signing normal contracts and sometimes signing below market value. For example, I’ve seen Correa sign for 24m per year and 15m per year.
