    The whiff...

Man, I am striking out like never before in this game. I’ve played The Show for many years and have never struck out as much as I am on this game. Given, I’m the Cubs so it’s not entirely unrealistic, but I doubt that’s the reason for my increase in swings and misses. I struck out 19 times in a game I just played.

I have human timing up at 7 as well, maybe I am just getting old, I don’t know.

Have you chang3d anything like tv for lag or new console, settings, etc? I noticed this year seemed a bit faster on default of the pitch but I chalk it up to increased frame rate and smoothness making it feel faster if that makes sense.

Game mode is on with my TV, yes. Still can’t hit.

Try different batting angles? I know the online competitive use strike zone 2, but I personally can't stand having the game look like WSB on the Sega Genesis. My swing timing has been best on Strike Zone 3 and Offset.

I've noticed my timing is off too. Seems like the swing animations might be a little quicker. I'm in front of everything

Ha...I'm late on everything. But I am playing HOF with pitch speeds 10. It is no joke this year. I might actually have to reduce pitch speed because I can't even catch up to low 90s FB...lol

As soon as the Diamond Dynasty crowd cries about it they’ll fix it in an update. Only a matter of time.

And I bounce back and forth between fish eye camera and MLB 15. I’ve played this game as long as I can remember and I can just tell you, the hitting is different. I’ve never struck out that many times in a game, ever.

I hit from the broadcast camera so I have pitch speeds at 10 as well, but it's not as fast from that angle. Gonna take a few games to adjust

I can’t even fathom hitting from the broadcast camera. As in, from behind the mound? No chance I could ever get used to that.

You'd be surprised at how quick you could get used to it, especially w/ a camera that is centered behind the pitcher. I gave it a shot years ago just for fun and actually went a good while using it w/ the same amount of success as hitting from behind the plate.

Hitting when using a camera behind the pitcher also gives you the added advantage of knowing exactly which pitch is about to be thrown, considering the pitchers finger positioning is easily visible when he's holding the ball in his glove.

In regards to the OP... the problems people are having may have something to do w/ the difference in lighting from '20 to '21.

Right away, I noticed that the contrast of the ball seemed lower than before. So the ball is much more natural looking when crossing the plate instead of giving off that bright, glowy look. You can actually see the rotation of the seams now as the ball is crossing the plate, whereas in '20, it looked like a solid white ball throughout and the seams were barely visible.

I tried to take the two images below in similar conditions at PNC Park.

Notice how the ball is not only lower in contrast and the seams are more visible, but the reduction in contrast and the elimination of the glowy appearance even makes the ball look smaller than before, which is why I think this may be what is throwing people off, including myself.

I’m very late on fastballs and early on off speed. This year I’m using dynamic difficulty and started on all star but I’ve dropped to veteran + and I still can’t hit!

Last year I was hitting on HOF and was cruising.
