How to use SP/DH Shohei Ohtani in you franchise

How guys, I made a video how to manually use Shohei Ohtani as a pitcher in rotation then as the DH when he's not pitching on those days.

Unfortunately you can't pitch and hit with him in same game, but if you manually setup the rotation and lineups prior to there games he will be able to pitch and hit.

This will work great for those guys who use 30 team control.

Hopefully they patch in to let us be able to pitch him and have him hit in the same game. Doubt they do but hey, maybe.

Both threads show / explain how to do something in the game with direct links to videos on their YouTube channels, how is one different from another? There has to be standards.


Personally, I have no issues whatsoever with either thread, I was just pointing it out.

Ill be honest, I didn’t look at the other thread so I couldn’t tell you. He’s not promoting his actual channel by posting a tip. He is simply providing a resource for a faq. Had he started the post out with “hey check out my channel for mlb the show tips and drop a like”, it may have been a different story

Wouldn't you be able to set a lineup with a fake DH and then sub in a fielder you want to play in the DH position? You should lose the DH at that point right and the pitcher (in this case Ohtani) would hit too?

They haven't made it right with Ohtani since he came into the league. I certainly don't expect it will happen now.

The frustrating thing is the fix is so easy. ANY PITCHER can hit for himself in the AL.

DH is an optional position, any manager can decide to play without DH and let the pitcher bat. The Show should allow this not just for Ohtani but for any pitcher.

It should be in the game and should have been in the game before Ohtani.

There is a way to revert a AL lineup to a NL lineup during your game. You will lose a Ayer in the process but it is possible.

There is a way to revert a AL lineup to a NL lineup during your game. You will lose a Ayer in the process but it is possible.

There is a better way to do it, without losing a bench player.

When you set up your lineup before the game, put a player you want playing in the field at the "DH" position.

Then, put the starting pitcher from the previous game, in the lineup at the position that you want the current "DH" to play.

When you get into the game, simply move the current "DH" to the position where the last game's starter is occupying. This will cause you to lose the DH, and the current pitcher will bat in the spot in the lineup of the starter for the last game.

That way you don't burn a bench player in the process.


I just wish they would fix the stamina/energy problem. Where 2 way players playing in the game at a position, or DH, don't regain any pitching stamina.

If your asking about custom leagues?

Yes you can by using a NL lineup work around or if your using ANGELS and play vs CPU then u can easily put him at the DH spot.

Are u the angels? Or someone else or the CPU?

Need more details. Is the league universal DH or no DH?
