    '21 Release Day plans...

Seeing what everyone plans to do/has done on release day gets me hyped to play.

My first move is always a night exhibition game, BOS-NYY at Fenway, with default rosters. This year I will pretend Chris Sale isn't recovering from injury so he gets the start against Cole.

    What are your plans??

In the past my number one priority was to check the default rosters and make any necessary adjustments I felt were necessary. But since I am a MLBTS 20 refugee this year as I decided not to buy the game, I won't be doing anything on 4/20. Oh and did SDS choose this date for some other significant reason?

      Re: '21 Release Day plans...

I already have the game and worked on my rosters for a few days but I will share my plans.

Now those plans have changed slightly since release and changed from the original plans I had for multiple weeks. I will not be doing an RTTS character this year. Just not digging the changes. Gave it a try and just no.

Instead I am doing 3 franchises of sorts:

*My future Indians franchise: This is what I am doing my testing on for stability in my roster. It's how my original future Indians dynasty came about in 2018 after testing. I plan on simming 10 years in and playing 2031 so the five year rotating schedule gives me the current schedule.

*Colorado Rockies Quick Manage Franchise: I am a month in and boy do the Rockies need some help. Debating opening a dynasty thread for this.

*Chicago Cubs: As an Indians fan, you may be asking why the Cubs. I am intrigued by their roster situation and for the first time since MLB14 I will be playing every pitch from the start of the current season. No simming ahead years, no play 1 sim 5. Nothing. Debating streaming it to keep me engaged. Plus I want my sliders perfect before starting the Indians one above.

This is the only next gen game I have so I plan on playing it a lot as well as some old school final fantasy ported games to break it up.

I have no plans to move on past MLB21 unless y2y returns. I also end up wishy washy about what I want to do franchise wise outside of the usual Indians so I made plans to stick to it this year.

I usually do Cardinals and Cubs at Busch Stadium as my first game but because I did not preorder early enough I was forced into LA and Tampa for the first game.

Honestly I don’t even know where I would start. This will be my first game since the Show 16 and on the Xbox. I’m gonna load it up before i go to work in the morning and just get my settings in order and probably mess with exhibition games after work to get a feel for it then jump into Diamond Dynasty see what the big fuss is about then start a franchise with the Braves. All within an hour lol

I went on and preordered the standard PS5 Edition this morning. Its fully downloaded now and ready for tomorrow. I'm gonna run a home game with my Braves at Truist and play either the Mets or Nats away as I get a feel for the new game.

              '21 Release Day plans...

My plans are to make this my last baseball franchise. So that means once I get a decent roster I’m looking at a 750+ hour deep dive, hoping that carryover saves return for ‘22. If they don’t then I’m just staying right here on ‘21 for the long haul, probably 5 or 7 seasons of playing every game.
              Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

Playing a franchise game still in 20. No 21 for me, not until it hits $20 in the summer.

Gonna give the game a whirl via Cloud streaming through GamePass. I tried out 2k21 last night to see how smooth it was and it was great. Hardly any input lag despite me not even using the high speed wifi.

If The Show plays just as good or better for me then streaming will easily be a viable solution. Hopefully I get an invite into the PC side of the cloud so I can try it on PC and see if it performs even better. If a phone can produce an experience with nearly no input lag, my hardwired PC may feel like I'm playing locally and I'll even be able to play online no issue or with the pitch speed as fast as possible like I prefer to play.

I haven't played an MLB game since the last MLB 2k on the 360. I don't even follow baseball anymore, but I think the game use to keep be in the loop of who's who in the league. The Rays are my home team, but I don't even know who's on their roster. So I'll be playing a few exhibition games with them while trying to figure out the game. It will be dope to just see the game on next gen, after all these years with no game.

Your squad is a fun one to be getting back into it with. You’ll love pitching with your ace!

Same as the 4 days of early access.. sit around waiting for them to patch their broken game.

Being able to load a roster would be a great start.
