Sound of the bat

Maybe I’m just being petty..but the crack of the bat when you hit a ball is really bothering me more than I ever thought it would. Everything sounds exactly the same whether it’s a 110 mph missile or blooper just over the infield.

I guess the reason why it’s bugging me so much is because how incredible the sound was in 20. Could they not of just used that sound from last year? I mean it obviously sounds way better. Was this a mistake? I mean, Is this something that might be patched? I loved last year when you knew just by how it sounded that you hit a HR.

Yea the sound of the bat does not sound good at all...very weak. When you squared a ball up it sounded really nice! Felt good! This needs to be addressed soon! Seems like everyone is missing MLB 20’s bat sound!!!

Hopefully there’s enough fuss and I can be patched. It couldn’t be that hard to change the bat sound, but who knows

I believe they had to patch the sound in 20 too before they got it perfect.

I actually think the sound of the bat is more realistic this year. If you listen to a broadcast that is how it sounds. Also when I (or CPU) get perfect perfect contact the crack of the bat is still there and it sounds and feels (vibration) great.

Funny how there’s so many different opinions on this. It sounds really good to me when you get a perfect swing using pulse 3D headset.

I actually think the sound of the bat is more realistic this year. If you listen to a broadcast that is how it sounds. Also when I (or CPU) get perfect perfect contact the crack of the bat is still there and it sounds and feels (vibration) great.

I think this is one of those instances of more realistic actually sort of being a bad thing. On broadcasts, you sometimes get those dope reverbs on a monster smash, but it is generally more on the tinny side than the CRACK side. In Show this year, I think on perfect-perfect nukes it's still decent, but perfect-perfect liners and such the oomph isn't there enough to make it feel satisfying enough a lot of the time.

crack of the bat is terrible. Cartoonish. Same thing with the catcher catching a pitch. It's brutal.

I thought the same thing at first but after having played more games the bat sounds are just more diverse. The satisfying crack is still there, I’ve had it numerous times, just not that often as it used to be and that’s fine by me.

Yeah, and I think part of the issue with nailing this down is that it's not like there's only two sounds for the crack of the bat in the game. So part of it might just be some of the "samples" in the game are not as good as some others. And we're not going to be able to 1:1 each other's experience because we're going to hear different samples and also have different setups.

I've played on both headset, 5.1 and just more standard stereo, and I generally stand by my feeling on the bat sounds, but I also mention all of this for why the experience for this specific thing will be hard to find an agreement on in totality.
