Maybe the reason they did release later than usual is because that had to at least provide something of a menu system and needed the extra couple of months to do this. I'm guessing there will be quite a few patches to improve this.

A theory about the release...
For starters I know nothing about game design. However I am very familiar withe the pressure to get your product on the shelves asap. I just wonder if tptb told the game designers that they had to release at this time instead of perhaps releasing next february. This would explain the strangely designed menus, the less than desirable roster vault problems and the lack of a stadium vault search function.

Re: A theory about the release...
I honestly think they bit off more than they could chew.
Getting the game out for the first time on Xbox along with playstation, adding a huge feature in stadium creator, and reworking the RTTS.
Either of those things is more than usual, but all 3 plus new game mechanics is a ton.
I'm not making excuses for them, but thinking of everything they added, it's amazing the game isn't worse.
That said, I would like my 4th and 5th pitch now. -

Re: A theory about the release...
The decision, but SDS still did all the coding and development required to make the Xbox version happen, which is a ton of work.Comment

Yes, it was. Sorry, I misunderstood the wording of your first post in regards to the actual development of the Xbox version.Comment

Re: A theory about the release...
Regardless of the reason why, they still likely had way more to work on than they were used to and things fell through the cracks. Whether it was MLB or SDS studios who decided on the multi-platform development doesn't matter, there was likely too much to get done and not enough resources/time.Comment
