There is no online teamplay/co-op mode and it's 2021 for crying out loud. Eight of us were in a party last night and we were all playing this game. One in the group of course said "unbelievable with all this tech and innovations and next gen nonsense we are unable to play 4v4 with position lock" preaching to the choir was a few of our responses.
I just do not understand why around 5yrs ago there was a mode for this including lobbies for matchups. Fast forward a few yrs and they go backwards.
For those interested you can still play as teammates (one plays infield while the other plays outfield, rotate pitching every other inning and rotate every other at bat). This can be done thru the shareplay feature at the party screen
