Filling up the pitching meter.....
What does filling the meter do for breaking balls? Fastballs have more velocity I know that but do breaking balls have more movement if I fill up the meter???Tags: None -
Re: Filling up the pitching meter.....
I can't say with absolute certainty, but from what I've noticed over the years:
Break/movement heavily correlates to individual pitch confidence.
Velocity correlates to stamina/energy and filling the meter on the front-end.
Accuracy correlates to hitting the yellow marker on the back-end. -
Re: Filling up the pitching meter.....
I don't know exactly how much it helps but on changeups I generally don't let the meter fill any. breaking balls I try to fill it halfway, fastballs I tend to let completely fill. the only time I don't fill the meter on fastballs is waste pitches. and if I'm throwing a breaking ball on particularly critical pitch, then I'll let the meter fill. but as for movement on breaking pitches, I don't really notice any real difference with filled meters versus half-filled. but I can't say I know conclusively I'm right, just that in my experience it works for me.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: Filling up the pitching meter.....
I used and have used the pitching meter since the Show introduced it. For me drains your energy quicker if you fill the pitching meter with every pitch you throw. If you have the intentions of throwing a change-up low in the zone and you fill up the meter. There's a chance that you are miss your spot and it is bye- bye baseball with a hanger...Comment
