I’m going back to ‘20
You know, I’m just going to play MLB The Show ‘20 on PS4 until I can actually download a roster on Xbox without the game closing. I have my ongoing franchise, familiar menus, and tons of rosters available. This pains me so much, seeing as I’m a Padre fan, and already have a shorter time with El Niño on the cover until next year’s edition.
Please PLEASE tell me that I’m missing something, and that I’m just an idiot for not seeing it.————————————

Re: I’m going back to ‘20
The game teases me by letting me run rampant downloading any roster I want off the vault, but none of them actually load. You're stuck with the default roster no matter what.

Re: I’m going back to ‘20
I went back to 20 after two days of playing 21. I refuse to play a RTTS infected with DD. Until that changes I’m staying put, so I guess I’m staying put forever.
But I am playing it on the PS5, though, and it’s quite nice.Comment

If you want to keep the players for the future, you can add them to a USB drive and do that. Well I assume you can on the Xbox. I have no idea if could saving is on it.Funkycorm

Re: I’m going back to ‘20
There is only 25 slots available for downloaded players in the save files. Once you add those 25 to a roster download 25 more over top. That's the cap the game itself sets. You can also only have max of 25 franchise files I believe.

OF COURSE when I load up MLB The Show ‘20, the PSN is down for maintenance, so I can’t download newer rosters————————————

I’m going back to ‘20
LOL I went back and took a trip down memory lane with MLB 11 and 12 on the PS3 and then 16,17,18 and 19 on PS5.
16 harkens back to the PS3 feel of the game....17 is where everything started going next gen on the PS4 but it had too many warts. But I loved the interface far more than “Phases”....eeeewwwwww. But gameplay really started going upwards on 18, then 19 and then.......
20 reigns supreme LOL!!!
Don't get me wrong.....21 plays a whale of a game....but I lost all my features I love too dearly (Y2Y and SOTS, Roster Importing) as well as design decisions I simply do not like. And it is simply not worth it, to leave all of the greatness of 20 behind.
Because when it comes down to it....I am all about my franchises which are years deep (and some getting started with incredible rosters like Bacon’s, 1993 and 1980’s Strat-O-Matic) and Classic 70’s, 80’s and 90’s baseball.....and we have all those decades covered incredibly well on 20. So different strokes for different folks.
And to the OP......we never left MLB 20!! Still in my book as the GOAT and will probably be the GOAT for a long long time.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 04-27-2021, 08:55 PM.Now Playing on PS5:

Re: I’m going back to ‘20
I don’t blame you OP. I want to like 21 a lot, but my biggest gripe is that EVERY Angels home game is at 1pm. It’s not that way in exhibition with live rosters, so wherever they pull the game times from, it’s completely wrong. Other teams have the same issue.Comment

Re: I’m going back to ‘20
This is why I never buy a sports game until the OSFM/Week 1/Opening Night roster is out. I only play franchise modes so I don’t need to start grinding on card games which means I don’t need the new game ASAP. Also in turn gives time for bugs to be sorted out.Buffalo Bills
