    MTO-“Campaign could not be authenticated...”

I have already restarted my MTO campaign once because the first time I got to the all star break and received the message “This campaign could not be authenticated...”. I assume this is happening because I continue to be disconnected from The Show servers (because they are garbage). But I have never once quit out in the middle of a game.

Now, in the second MTO I have done (because I quit the first at the all star break once I received no affinity rewards) I just received the message right before I won the ALCS. Sure enough I then won the ALCS and received no affinity rewards.

I’m incredibly frustrated with this and although I enjoy the mode I would like to be properly rewarded for the time I’ve put into it.

Has anybody else continually run into this issue? Is there any way around it once you get that message or should you just give up as soon as that message pops up?

I can confirm it happens when the servers go down... and you don't even have to be playing the mode when this happens either.

The servers went down tonight and while waiting for them to come back on, I was testing to see if MTO would even load properly or be treated like DD where you just get booted back to the main screen. Sure enough, as soon as I entered MTO, I got the same "This campaign could not be authenticated..." message just by starting it up.

Luckily I was only 22 games into the season... but I'm also wondering if you can get it to authenticate again once the servers come back online, so long as you don't progress at all while they're down. I made sure to immediately exit when I got that message and not progress anything. I'll have to revisit it to verify if I can still get affinity points or not.

I may just be unlucky but it was the exact same scenario for me. Last night while I was unable to connect to diamond dynasty I logged into MTO and as soon as I logged in I got the message. Just like you I exited immediately without progressing or playing at all (because I had been down this road before). I waited until the servers were back up and running and I went and finished the ALDS. I never received the error message again but when I won the ALDS (a couple games later) I did not receive any affinity rewards.

In my experience once you get that message your MTO is dead as far as SDS is concerned, and you can not get any rewards. Very frustrating.

That's a bunch of bull. How can they punish you for simply entering the mode and not allow you to authenticate it again as long as you don't progress anything?

It's these types of changes this year that has really lowered my respect for SDS. How anyone could think it'd be a good idea to punish players like that when they can't even get their servers stable for two weeks after early release is beyond me.

They ruined RTTS by integrating it w/ DD and want you to gravitate towards playing all of their online-dependent modes, but have zero safeguards in place to protect players from losing out on rewards in case their servers go down while playing.

Whether it's a lack of oversight or a complete disregard for customers getting screwed, either way makes me look at them in a whole other light now.

This is my thought exactly. Don’t push the DD rewards and all that nonsense if you can’t hold up your end of the bargain.
