    Torpedos off the bat

Been playing this online in ranked seasons. I'm in the allstar league now. Every game I've played is just a homerun fest and balls are literally laser beams off the bat. Every game I've played is like this. Just lasers all over the field.

I just had a game where I had 6 HRs total and 3 of them came with 2 strikes and while using contact swing. 2 with Bryce Harper and 1 with JD Martinez...

One of the many reasons why playing online will never be apart of my life 😅

16 years I’ve been playing this game not once have I played online. Solid hits and power have been to high for years and years now and if I can’t edit that with customer sliders I’m not interested

This. The game has essentially been a HR derby on default sliders since the casual crowd started complaining that scoring runs was too hard, and the game was boring.

I play online every now and then, and in higher tiers it's too hard to make contact against good players AND too easy to hit bombs if you happen to connect.

          Wait.

          That sounds like baseball 2021...

(BTW, I agree with the OP.)

What is considered "ranked seasons"? Is that DD? I've been mostly playing online ranked set on allstar for both hitting and pitching, and the balance has been incredible.

I think the hitting can be fixed fairly well with sliders. Out of the box the last time I remember the hitting in the Show being great was 2016. Since then it has catered towards too much exit velocity even on stuff not on the barrel of the bat.

                Yes, it's a DD mode.

Thanks. I've played a few in DD. Much like similar modes in other sport's games, balance is always out of whack in them. It doesn't matter if it's NBA2K, Madden, FIFA, card collecting modes online never have struck a good balance IMO. When every hitter on a team is a legend with contact/power over 100, how can it be? I'll stay with online ranked and normal teams because the guys in this thread are right.

For mlbts 20 the developers said they increased home runs to match what was happening IRL. I use manage mode/franchise and I put Forbes Field as my home park to limit all the home runs. The problem is Forbes is too extreme in the opposite direction. I'm looking forward to ps5 when I can get one to create a pitcher friendly park that isn't as extreme as Forbes.

I remember the developer saying he didn't like that style of play but it matches what is happening IRL.

A lot of the cards used in DD are VERY over powered when it comes to their power ratings. It's an absolute home run fest because of the ratings.

If you're looking for real baseball simulation in DD it's not going to happen
