It's broken Matt. It started out okay, but it has gotten progressively worse with tracking any of my progress. I'm using pitching archetypes and am pretty much now seeing zero progress. The DD trick of throwing a pitch vs the cpu and quitting and returning to the clubhouse no longer works at all for me. I'm so bummed as this is the main Show mode that I play.

I do find that the some of the stuff around the periphery with the new live videos are a sign that SDS is not abandoning the mode, but it seems so oddly incestuously tied to DD now. I feel like we also need an explanation of why we are capped at 3 pitch types and can't have 4 or 5. It's easy to think that the reason they prohibit it is because of what it would affect in DD.

I had a training session that looked like I was playing a game on my phone. Did not make sense to me.

While it is nice that one can use their RTTS player in DD, it should never be a necessary component of RTTS.

Also when I have one player it does not make sense switching load-in.

Thanks for your excellent video. Not being able to create multiple, unique RTTS characters any longer is the one that hurts the most for me. I agree with you that they'll probably patch the progression problem to some degree, but I'm just not interested in RTTS any longer if all my players have to be the exact same body type and the same name. That takes away a big part of the fun for me.

Fortunately I read about how RTTS has been ruined before making the mistake of buying the game.

I'll just keep enjoying last years game, and check back in next year. Thanks again for the video.

PS...I wonder if there are others like me who are now seriously thinking of making the upgrade to X-Box Series X instead of PS 5?...since MLB The Show is no longer exclusive...and for me no longer playable due to RTTS.

RTTS has always made up over 98% of my play time. It's so bad this year that I'm content with not playing the game anymore at this point. I'll revisit it after a patch.

Wow this has really gone to S#&!. I usually only play rtts in the winter months once I've done franchise stuff for a few months. Guess not this year. Disappointing, feel bad for the rtts players

They completely trashed the mode and frankly disrespected so many of us who have dutifully bought the game annually going back years.  It’s disgusting how DD is now tied into the mode and it feels required. I don’t cate what BS the SDS guys say about that. And someone please explain the logic to me. Two players in baseball history have done the two-way player thing at a very high level……TWO…..so let’s force everyone to play that way?  It’s so unbelievably stupid. They can say what they want, but I can’t see any answer for the motivations other than trying to force people into DD to try and generate more loot box revenue.   Bought this game for years and years and I have sunk thousands of hours into RTTS.  SDS has managed to destroy all the love I had for this game in one season. Really unfortunate.

Is anyone else experiencing a glitch where you progress into a 2nd minor league season but it keeps counting up everyone's stats from the previous season??

Longtime Madden, first time Show...glad to hear the leveling up seems off to you as well. I understand grinding, but jeez this is pretty rough.

Also, I can't seem to find my team stats, or my created player stats...those are kept, right?

There was a time when SDS said "we won't take things out of the game". But that all changed when they turfed Season mode without telling anyone and then now this is twice they have radically changed the RTTS mode. I actually liked what they did when they changed RTTS for MLBTS 18. But this time around it appears they have taken many many many steps backwards. I want to play RTTS, I don't want DD imposed on me. It's a sad state of affairs that makes me believe my decision not to buy this year's game was the right decision.
