Re: MLB The Show 21 Patch #3 Available Today - Patch Notes
The boosts seem to only show up for me in games after I already played a game in the series. Even then it's not consistent.

Re: MLB The Show 21 Patch #3 Arrives Tomorrow - Patch Notes
Compared to 20 on My ps4 pro this is smooth as butter on my series X.....I honestly can’t notice much difference before and after the patch....... I also think type of tv u play on makes a huge difference to how much u notice frame drops though

If by “ play now” you mean exhibition-I’ve only had one incident where the game treated the 3 inning as the 9th and pinch hit for the pitchers announcer actually referred to game as the 9th.
But I’ve had no crashes in exhibition.....Franchise is on hold because of crashing issuesComment

Well yes and no, some new tv’s like the LG CX have VRR (variable refresh rate).
“The frame rate of a game constantly changes depending on the amount of processing going on: a less busy part of a game might run at a relatively consistent frame rate of, say, 50fps (although in reality this number will almost always fluctuate a bit), but a sudden explosion could see the console have to suddenly work much harder and the frame rate drop to 30fps or even lower. These constant and sudden changes in frame rate can cause stutter and tearing on displays that run at static refresh rates - which is pretty much all of them.
That’s where VRR comes in. A TV that supports VRR will dynamically match its refresh rate to the frame rate of the game, keeping pace with all of these changes. The result is smoother, more consistent gameplay.”"When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment

No XP or stat tracking added for the Universal Profile like EVERY previous version of The Show?! Why not? This can’t be hard to implement... 🙄"Don't be afraid to go to number 23, he's alright."Comment

I’ve worked in software development (not gaming, but it’s very similar), and that’s the kind of comment I’ve heard some many times. The true answer is: we don’t know. What seems easy on the surface may not be that obvious. And if the game wasn’t developed with that functionality in mind, it wasn’t a priority, obviously, and adding it might not be that straightforward. Not saying it can’t be done. But people have to move away from that notion that little things are easy to implement.

I am using the original roster, not the Live Roster that was downloaded with patch- and I’ve been customizing it getting it ready for a Franchise..

And VRR has nothing to do with fps drops. That is caused by the game and console specs. VRR on the tv just matches the tvs refresh rate to the games fps so if it dips in fps the tv matches it which lessens screen tears but it cannot fix fps drops
But again on PS5 it does not matter as PS5 has no VRR support. It does on series x but the fps is based on the game and console, not the tv or the VRRComment

What does the tv you have help you not notice it as much? There is no such thing as you claim you are on PS which offers no VRR support so it does not matter if a tv offers VRR since PS5 and PS4 pro has no VRR support.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 21 Patch #3 Arrives Tomorrow - Patch Notes
I have been playing both XSX and PS5 versions, much prefer the PS5. FPS drops are quite noticeable in cut scenes / walk ups on XSX. There are still drops on PS5 but much less drastic. Overall a smoother experience on PS5. I also prefer the controls on PS5, it feels much tighter and more responsive on PS5 controller. Just my personal experience and opinion.
Is this a dev thing they need to do better or are we already at the stage where the ps5 can’t handle the visuals?Comment

Hold on a second. While I respect your knowledge in your field....he is not asking for something new. He is asking why something that has been a part of the game for long long time was suddenly gone. Where did it go? What changed so drastically that it is gone? And no explanation (yet again on things removed).
I think it is fairly obvious that things were removed with the development of the game on a new console other than the Playstation. If it is not apparent to some......realize this was the cost this cycle (and hopefully only this cycle) of going to another console. It is what it is.
I think it is a case of "well we cannot do that with this infrastructure for that console like we could for this console”. Maybe I am wrong....I am no software or hardware expert. Just trying to use my common sense here.
We know features must match to a tee on both next gen consoles. Obvious at this point. Now Playing on PS5:
