The Rockies got better value in that Trade than the Cardinals did.

These do happen if you play around with it enough. As the Padres I offered Tommy Pham and Adrian Morejon and the Blue jays were willing to give me Vlad Jr., Teoscar Hernanez, and some C pot prospect

There is more to it but trust me it's not going to allow for a bunch of rip off trades.

Having said that I do not have mlbts21 yet. Waiting on a ps5 console if and when one becomes available at a reasonable price. It's amazing they can land a helicopter on Mars but can't produce ps5 consoles on Earth.
You can use this website too. https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/trade-simulator/

If I personally put myself in the shoes of the opposing team's GM and ask if I would be happy with this return. It's no fun ripping off the CPU for good players. If people want that, you can just edit your own players to whatever you want lol.

Got SS Bobby Witt Jr from the Mets for CF Lolo Sanchez, RP Evan Steele and CF Daz Cameron.

And Jared Walsh was in the Trout trade in the offseason, which also included Ohtani. I **** you not.

Yeah...there's no way I'm buying those trades without pics.

I'm sure trade logic is difficult to program but I also am sure a lot of parents buy this game for their kids and the kids want to rip off the cpu teams which may be a factor in why trades can be easily made.

If you use the same self imposed trade restrictions I use then you wouldn't think it is easy to make trades.

I thought SDS said in the lead ups to this release that they were re-evaluating trade logic and putting more value on young elite talent?!

You can literally get any player you want via trade for virtually nothing. I EASILY had a deal in place for Mike Trout. This is absolutely insane.
And I would argue that there is not a single sports game in the market that has trade logic AI worth investing time in. Zero. Not even OOTP or NBA2K.

If I ever platt any franchise mode, I just turn trading off. It’s not worth the headaches.

I’ve pretty much just accepted that trade logic in sports video games is never going be where we want it to be, at least not anytime soon. Either it’s too difficult to program for now, or it takes so much time to make significant progress on with every game launching yearly that no developer sees it as worth the investment.

We’ll probably always have to police ourselves to some extent for a realistic experience, you’ll probably always be able to rob the CPU and exploit it if that’s what the player aims to do. I keep my expectations low when devs start talking about ‘improved trade logic’.

Exactly. Same goes for the AI adjusting lineups, making roster moves, and cutting and signing players.

How is the CPU-CPU trade logic? That’s actually more important to me because I can control my own trades (try to keep them fair, and at the deadline try to only do deals with teams that are not contending and may be selling.)

Re: How Terrible Is the Trade Logic?!

I haven't messed around much with manual trades, but the trade finder seemed to be giving fair returns on the players I was putting on it. Maybe you can steal players by manipulating the value in your favor, but it's really easy to just not do that if you want a realistic franchise.

I haven't played enough to see if the CPU/CPU logic is good though. If it is then the user abuse doesn't really scare me much.

Also, in '20, the default rosters were horribly balanced so the couch would trade with itself due to positions of need and the results were not good.

                            OK. Suit yourself.

But I always do a test franchise or two to test out trade logic, and this is what you can get.

Why wouldn't you believe? What do I have to gain by making this up? That's comical. I'm in my 40's. I have no interest in trolling people on a video game message board.

if it helps, I believe you. Mainly because I've seen the same terrible trades when I "shop" a player.

Because I haven't seen a single trade offer remotely similar to the ones you're posting. Shoot, I used suggest trade to try and replicate your trades, haven't gotten the offer. Tried manually offering the players, haven't gotten the trade done.
