What stats do the different ratings equate to?

I was curious of anyone knew what stats the ratings are "supposed" equate to. I know its not a direct translation, but just curious.

Like if I am creating Tony Gwynn, I have no idea if I should make his contact 99 or 88 or w/e.

Likewise for power. Would 80 power normally translate to like 20 HRs? 30? 50?

    Any feedback helps, thanks!!

I don't think anyone outside of Sony or the Studio knows exactly what the Show's secret recipe formula is but a lot of great OS roster makers have their own calculator that can do as good a job as any at replicating attribute ratings. I have my own ideas for formulas based on 1979-1990 IRL MLB data. let's compare what I have for Gwynn on his spectacular 1994 versus his less than Gywn-like 1990, a year in which he hit ''only'' .309

Re: What stats do the different ratings equate to?

I have been playing the show for years, mostly as a franchise player. From my personal experience 60 in any stat is sightly above average, and anything at 50 is basically replacement level. Anything below 50 is below average. So specifically to your power question HR numbers would equate to attributes as such (keep in mind this is my personal feelings based on experience), and what type of home run numbers you can expect.

Power (50): Roughly 10-20 HR on average

Power (60): Roughly anywhere from 15-25HR on avg.

Power (70): Roughly 25-35 home runs on average

Power (80): Anywhere from 30 to 40 HR on average

Power (90): Anywhere form 35-50 HR on average

Obviously there are other mitigating factors that can effect these numbers such as injury, hot and cold streaks, even luck. Also, a players vision and discipline ratings can have a huge effect on other hitting stats as well. A guy with high power but low vision is going to miss a lot more meatballs on the zone due to a smaller PCI. But this is a good baseline to start from. Contact rating is also a lot harder the quantify IMO as balls in play are subject to a a lot more luck to account for things such as errors and things of that nature.
