I would be inclined to agree with this. I've hit more HR's with contact swing than not. It feels like there is no power drop-off this year with the swing while your PCI nearly doubles. There's almost zero reason to not contact swing if you're using zone hitting.

They said they fixed equipment in RTTS but I’ll bet money my dude will revert back to high socks and a single batting glove the instant I check my loadout.

After a few games post patch on Series X, it does seem to play a tad smoother but honestly not much. Not sure if there is anything they can really do at this point, or maybe it's not a priority. Wasn't seeing the choppy gameplay on hits down the line which was nice, but cutscenes still need some work. It's just jarring to go from smooth gameplay to stuttering cutscenes. Gameplay is at its worst when playing in the rain, although I haven't tested that yet since the patch dropped. Yesterday I was playing a game in the rain at Citi Field and I had to stop halfway through bc the framerate was so bad.

I’ve actually grown to prefer this game on my Series X over PS5 because combined with my LG CX and Series X, the game looks so good and I feel like the latency during gameplay is better on Series X than it is on PS5. I really notice this while using meter pitching and also timing things up while hitting.

I also see in the patch notes a fix on lighting in some of the stadiums...which is really my main complaint with the game. So if this is fixed, wow I’m never going to stop playing this game lol.
I'm seeing them mostly during cutscenes, replays, hits down the line, foul balls. It just doesn't play as smooth as it does on PS5. I'm sure your LG CX helps a bit with the he being a tad smoother. Since I believe it's HDMI 2.1 and you can't turn on auto low latency on the Series X with that tv. I'm actually going to be buying that tv as soon as we move in July.

*Edit* I meant to say you CAN turn on low latency on the Series X with that tv. But yeah, the VRR is basically one of the reasons I want the CX

Yea I’m not a tech expert, but I think you may be right, as my TV and the Series X support variable refresh rate. This is supposed to help you barely or not even notice small dips in frame rate during gameplay, if I understand it correctly. And I want to say the PS5 does not support VRR just yet, but that doesn’t even matter when it comes to this game because it does run damn good on PS5.

And I can’t recommend the CX enough. I’ve gotten really into gaming again with the next gen consoles and those paired with this TV have put me in gaming heaven.

This is my worry. It is an immersion killer for me and stopping me from playing franchise.

Thanks for the update, Archie. Really wish they would give us video options on Xbox like we had on PS4 Pro. To me, framerate is king and I'll gladly even drop down to 1080p if it's noticeably smoother.

I don't even think the mechanic is necessary at all. I play zone analog with stride and I never pick contact or power.

I've tried them before and never felt like I hit more homer's or struck out less.

I dunno could just be me but it just seems unnecessary.

Didn’t have much time to try anything after downloading the patch on my Series X. The one thing I tried which was a big eye sore for me was to play a game at Marlins Park and check the lighting. While not perfect, it does seem like it looks way better than it did before. That accompanied with Ridins rosters...I’m so ready to fire up franchise I can’t wait.

On a side note for Series X users, there’s a new console update out now. It apparently makes Quick Resume even faster which is crazy. It also introduces a few new dynamic themes you can choose from. One of them is OG Xbox themed and is so damn cool. You can also download a new update for your Series X controller as well.

Yup! You can download them on any console too I believe. They’re amazing as always and add so much depth to this game.
