    Player Progression Manually

As you know, the player progression hasn’t improved and so in that case I like to make my franchises realistic as possible when editing players attributes myself.

How are some ways the realistic franchisers do thier progressions.

I do it at the end of regular season according to thier stats. I go to every 30 MLB teams rosters

I do this too, but not systematically. I just rove through the rosters occasionally and make adjustments based on who is significantly over or under performing.

I also add attributes back to the 35+ year-old players every month or so since the game's age regression is too strong.

Since individual pitching attributes outside of control never improve, I manually edit either velocity or break on one pitch for each prospect under 25 in the off-season. Otherwise those young pitching prospects will never develop their pitches. Sure there conmand and sim attributes can improve, but they will be throwing 88 mph 4 seamers for their entire career. The formula I use is as such:

      A Prospects: +4
      B Prospects: +3
      C Prospects: +2
      D Prospects: +1
      F Prospects: +0

Caveat: I never improve velocity and curve on any given prospect. I choose one or the other to prevent balance issues. I also only edit one pitch type I.E. fastball, curve, sided, etc. per pitcher per offseason. This really gives pitching prospects unique feel. Some guys have great fastball change up combo, some guys have good sinker curveball combo, etc. etc.

Just seems to me that after all this time it’s going to have to come down to how the game is developed for the future. For people who play franchise we still do not have a training mode that helps players progress during the season and it’s there but really dose not do anything at all. It’s going to be up to the company that designs this game to make player progress and player improvement part of the way they design the franchise mode next year. One thing that has been really disappointing about this years game is that almost nothing has been done to improve franchise mode.
