Re: For the indecisive franchise guy

Took 2 weeks off, spent a week deciding on a new team, decided to finish my season with Minnesota and fell back in love. Was hell bent on getting a playoff victory and failed in the wild card against Cleveland....lost 4-3. Beiber struck out 14!
Got to the offseason and made small FA moves and brought up Kiriloff. Now waiting to bring up Royce Lewis this coming season. It's like a brand new team with 3 FA signings, Kiriloff brought up full time and letting Pineda and Cruz go, along with Happ retiring.
I will get this team a playoff victory for the first time in almost 2 decades if it kills me.

Also grabbed a notebook and keeping notes to be more engaged and remember all my moves over the seasons then I'll write them on the Franchise discussion board to share. Keeps me more invested.

I feel like that AL Wildcard game has got to be the hardest game to win in the Show through the first 3-4 years. Depending on who you choose, you're probably playing one of Tampa (Glasnow), NYY (Cole), CLE (Bieber), Minny (Berrios), Houston (Greinke?). Elimination games where you line up against the other teams ace are ROUGH.

Take home the Central and you'll get that 1st win!

Worst part was I went into the middle of August up 2.5 games. Lost 6 straight.... Ended up losing to Chicago by 7 games which forced me into the wildcard game.

The Rockies are an intriguing team. They have little to no history as a franchise with only a few trips to the playoffs and one WS appearance. So you’re basically right their book.

            Story lines:

            1. All starts with Trevor Story. What to do with him? Play out the season and see if you can re-sign. Deal him at the beginning to get the best haul? Trade deadline to see if you can compete? All starts with your cornerstone.

            2. Will they ever pitch enough to compete. They have a few good arms in Marquez who’s good on the road but struggles at Coors. Jon Gray who could be very good but he’s in his walk year. Can anyone step up?

            3. Farm System. It’s pretty lean except for Zac Veen. He’s still a few years away but he’s one you can buil around.

            4. Competing in the NL West with LAD and SD loaded! Your inter league is AL West some good teams there in HOU and OAK. LAA with Trout, Rendon and Ohtani. TEX are building and SEA stock with young OF potential superstars.

Rockies are super fun. I did one with them, but jumped the gun on trading away their assets (Marquez/Story) in spring training, then had a reasonably stacked system all of the sudden. Biggest challenge with them is holding onto them and trying to build around them. Blackmon is a bag of d1cks in the field, but the guy still mashes. Super tough division too!

Got 3 years into my Twins Franchise.
                Ready for a change.
                Marlins, Orioles or Tigers......
Decisions decisions. That Marlins pitching staff or mash with Torkelson and chase 500 with Miggy? Orioles have a fun division, couple solid prospects and get to play against the Yanks, Sox and Ray's every year.

if it's Total Change you're looking for, then among these 3 it's Miami, and not just because of the DH thing but a different league, teams and stadiums also as well too

if you're just looking for a Little Change then staying within the division and moving from Minnesota to Detroit will keep things familiar and comfortable

Baltimore would be the somewhere in-between with Medium Change

FWIW I don't think there is a bad choice among these 3 whatever you decide

Re: For the indecisive franchise guy

This is a thread I need. I'm glad I'm not alone in always changing my mind for a franchise. I've started so many and just don't know what I want to stick with because I'm invested in players or even guys should be on this team, or why did a team do that?

I know I can adjust with the 30 team control but I don't want to be that involved. I just wish the AI was better. Like after year one, the A's shouldn't be signing Freeman and Correa.

But, Astros fan here. I know, I know but I have been for like 20+ years. I loved when they were awful. Franchise was way more fun.

I just don't know what to do with them. I've released all the players before as "punishment" but that gets a little bland after a while.

I'm thinking about starting one with Arizona. They seem like they could be fun because they don't seem to have a direction and are in a tough division.

I've done fantasy drafts but I hate it sometimes when I see the newly drafted Jack Leiter as the ace.

Maybe I'll just be the Astros and rebrand them. Do like a expansion draft? Has anyone ever worked an expansion draft on the show? I wonder what good rules would be.

                    Any thoughts?

My current franchise is a rebrand, fantasy draft. I like doing the fantasy draft because every team is pretty much stacked evenly.

I'm looking to start a franchise with the team in the absolute worst shape. Who do you guys think that is after the trade deadline? I'm leaning toward Colorado but am open to suggestions.

The Rangers have the worst record in the AL and just gave up Gallo, Gibson and Kennedy.

Rangers are frustrating this year in the game. My team is so bad, I can't buy a hit, and I'm just waiting (probably for more than the 1st season) for Jack Leiter, Sam Huff, Josh Jung, Anderson Tejada, and Leody Tavares to be MLB ready.

If you're like me and over multiple years of Pirates, Marlins, Orioles, and Diamondback rebuild, the Nationals rebuild is now fun. Juan Soto, Josh Bell, Strasburg and not a whole lot else other than fringe young guys. Keibert Ruiz is a stud in the game and lots of pitching prospects to develop or flip. Cubs rebuild also looking enticing.

And as bigger franchises, not unrealistic to hit free agency for quality pieces.
