Why?

Because if you start a franchise and you want rebranded teams, you have to do it all in one shot before you get an opportunity to save the file. Suppose you want to rebrand a bunch of teams...you have to go through all the steps for each team - uniforms, logos, all in one shot. Or they could include a custom team creator from the "create" menu which will save uniforms, logos, and vital information which could then be assigned to any team at the start of the franchise.

Only other option is to sim a year until you get to the offseason.

Though I have never done it, I thought you could save your designs and reload them later. So you could sim a season with a dummy file and spend time creating then reload them elsewhere in a new franchise all at once. Maybe that is what you are referring to by off season. And maybe I am incorrect.

I think the argument could go both ways here though. One is let us do it any time for the reasons you state but also most teams don't rebrand or change stadiums mid season unless there is a catastrophic event so it is less realistic to let us do it mid season.

I don't fundamentally disagree with you or your points but I think there is argument to be made both ways.

Actually, you're right. You're given the option to export the team after you create it.

At least give us the option to edit team colours/uni's etc.

It's beyond frustrating to think that you have 30 teams all lined up to go, start a new franchise, import your re-branded teams, start playing and then, maybe, oh I don't - 20 games in you play a team that you hadn't before and realize their helmet or sock colours are all wrong. It would be so helpful to be able to edit those things throughout the season. As it is, you have to either bite the bullet and play it out (which i tend to do), sim the season (that you just started, are 20 games in, the standings and stats are all awesome etc. (which I have also done)), or cancel and start again (which I have also done).

SDS needs to hire just one person to flag for these things, lol.

Honestly it was kind of a stab in the dark. Thought I had heard that somewhere.

Still though, it would seem logical now that their is a stadium creator to give the game a team creator.
