Even if the portraits look better there are enough players that don't have them or when they change teams lose them that it's more enjoyable to have everything look similar.

The game looks better with the details filled in with players and ballparks there is a ton of that this year to. Some of the missing details have been missing for a couple of years now and there is no reason for that.

Probably best solution is the one Madden uses. All the players they get facial scans of take a picture for them In a generic all white non descriptive uniform and cap. This way if they get moved or traded everyone looks the same. Also the user created/ game created players use the some look just for their digital portraits. Makes it so everyone looks roughly the same even if traded.

I don't like the portraits in madden either.

Always prefer to get the digital representation of the player for everything. Feels more immersive as you see them as you always see them.

I get people prefer the portraits but after a few seasons of Franchise there's more digital heads them portraits and then it just looks off.

One weird thing is the inconsistency with regards to who has a portrait. Kelenic, Ronny Mauricio, Hunter Greene do but Jazz Chisholm, Justin Dunn, and Jean Segura don't. Very odd.
