    Re: How old are you, MLB the Show fan?

    Sorry guys, been busy with my online league lately, but man there's such great conversation here, nothing toxic and everyone sharing there childhood gaming experiences.

    It's really great to read and share our gaming past years and share them with others who might have the same similar experiences.

    I will try to go back over the thread post some more comments and join in the fun of my history of gaming lol. There has been so many great post and I am glad we have a place to come and share with others.

    A lot of the sharing, conversations is exactly what I bring to my OLDER GAMER LEAGUE. I know many of you stated your just an offline guys and thats great, but I provide the same experience offline but instead of playing the CPU you will play other players like myself for great ball games, talking about the history of baseball as we play and other life sports and things. I have built a quality group of guys that truly believe and know the meaning of true sportsmanship.

    I have created the ultimate online league. It's as close to the old online franchise you're gonna get.

    You get access to every player in the game, you get to play the real 2021 schedule, you get to play divisional opponents 19 different times and you get to hit with the pitchers in the NL games.

    If you're looking for a MLB THE SHOW 21 League please look below.

    I am real big on common courtesy and sportsmanship. This MLB league is all about FAIR PLAY.

    I have a MLB THE SHOW 21 LEAGUE for PS4/PS5 that started 6/1/21. The teams are given by where you currently lived or a team closest to where you're located; this prevents guys from only taking the top teams (No Exceptions).

    * I created the ultimate league where it is as close to the old online franchise you're gonna get. We are following the real life 2021 MLB schedule, real lineups, rotations etc, we even keep up with the real life transactions!!

    We can keep our rosters fully updated without SDS preventing us from not having the players we need.

    I have an easy to use league website that provides the rules, settings and features to help schedule your league games. This league stays ACTIVE with only having to play 3-4 games a week.

    I will only accept mature adults 30 years or older only who play this game realistically and who accepts the rules we have and follows them without breaking them just to get a WIN.

    Myself I am 50 years old and looking for other older gamers who want to be in a SIM style MLB league with other older guys like myself who play with class where winning is not the most important thing. I have already have a set of mandatory RULES everyone must follow each and every game that I have been using since the very first MLB league I did on MLB 2K7.

    40 Man Rosters
    26 Active Players
    5 Man Rotation
    8 Man Bullpen
    9 Players In Lineup
    We have the NL lineups

    4 Man Bench [See Below]

    * C
    * INF
    * INF
    * OF

    * DH in the AL
    * NL Lineups

    * 2021 Real MLB Schedule
    * 162 Game Season
    * 3 Game Series - 4 Game Series - 2 Game Series

    If your interested then please go and fill out a league application to be accepted.

          40. First baseball video game was probably something on the Atari. I remember playing the heck out of Bases Loaded on gameboy. I’ve been playing the Show since 08.

              I’m 44 and I’ve been playing baseball console games going all the way back to the Atari 2600. I’ve been playing The Show since it’s inception. I plan to keep playing until I take my last breath. I wonder what baseball game I’ll be playing at 80 plus years? Will The Show still be around? Anyways, this is a really awesome thread!

                Hopefully the whole idea that controllers will go away at some point has now bitten the dust. There seemed to be a lot of talk about it a few years ago. But I think the fad with the Wii and motion controllers has now past, and with the success of the new consoles, we should be safe for a while into the future.

                While I don't want to take away anyone else's enjoyment in how they want to game, I really need my dual shock and button inputs!
                Anyone who claims to be a fan of two teams in the same pro sport is actually a fan of none.

                    Re: How old are you, MLB the Show fan?

                    50, coming up on 51.

                    My dad worked for IBM so we had a PC in the house fairly early. I think my first game was MicroLeague Baseball in my early teens, with the occasional wander into Earl Weaver territory. Then after college, someone turned me on to (at the time) Pursue the Pennant, which later became Diamond Mind. More recently I moved to OOTP for the PC/sim side.

                    Didn't do as much baseball gaming on the console, because the statistical simulations were more interesting than the pitch-to-pitch action, but I still dabbled here and there -- Bases Loaded for Nintendo was a big one (the one where names were really short and you had guys named "CAR" and "ACE"). Also got a lot of mileage out of Tommy Lasorda Baseball on the Genesis. But then passed on console baseball for a long time, and finally got around to getting in on The Show with the PS4, and stayed with it onto PS5.

                      Just turned 50...play MLB The Show multiple times a week...all year long.

                      Compared to my first baseball game (Atari 2600 Baseball) I'm still amazed at what video game baseball has become.

                        48 years young, and have to admit that I get an amazing sense of satisfaction building a team with current stars, legends and hall of famers and then decking them out in Montreal Expos colors.

                        I miss that team so much, can't wait to get my hands on a PS5 so I can stadium edit, "chien chairs" at the Big-O, or "biere-beer" at Harry Park.

                            Some of the first baseball games I can remember playing are 98 World Series Baseball on Sega Saturn and Ken Griffey on SNES.

                            Both of these games played a big part in my love for baseball video games and baseball in general. I still remember playing against my older brother, getting absolutely pumped as Albert Belle walked to the plate. He was an absolute cheat code from what I can remember.

                                It's crazy how many of us are 40 and above. Never would've thought that. But it's super awesome to see us older guys still love to game and play the greatest sport ever made.
