    FPS Vs Resolution

My TV set up supports 4K at 60 Hz but only 1080 at 120 Hz which one is more ideal for The Show? I’ve tried both and resolution-wise I don’t see a difference but it does seem a lot smoother when I put it in 120 hz and only 1080p,

    is this all placebo?

Am I crazy for not utilizing 4K?

Probably placebo for the most part since The Show doesn't do 120hz. Games have to be programmed to use 120hz in order for it to be implemented.

Oh I always thought 120 Hz was just TV dependent, the game was irrelevant on that side of things…… I’m nowhere near a expert on these things but I’m wanting the best performance possible so……

True 120hz requires the game to run at 120 fps, so that's a bit of a pipedream at the moment since The Show can't even do 60 fps at all times, although I could see it being possible at 1080p if SDS were to optimize and support it down the road.

Also I don't think you're crazy for going with 1080p. A smoother framerate is always top priority for me.

Have you gone into the display settings of the Series X? I have my display resolution set on 4k UHD , and the refresh rate is 60 hz.
My monitor will support that. If your TV supports that , then That is what Irecommend you have it on. The visuals and refresh rate are perfect IMO.

I do change it to , let's say 1440p .. 120 hz if I am watching an actual sporting event. Visuals are smoother when watching a game

              Hopefully that helps
