No discussion about home plate umpire anymore?

I play using Hybrid presentation. Played a decent amount of games and just realized I haven't heard the commentators talk about the umpires. I always liked this so so I could be prepared for the type of strike zone I was dealing with that game. Did they remove this or do I have to use Broadcast presentation now to get this feature?

Typically happens in the Top of the 1st after they do the weather report. Sometimes it will happen in the bottom of the 1st.

And I'm thinking there have been times that I've "skipped" through it even in broadcast and it wasn't mentioned at all.

I want to say it happens on the 2nd/3rd batter of the top of the 1st.

After I finish this game I'll start up a game with it turned off to check. Super super annoying if this is the case. I could switch to hybrid from broadcast. But having quick counts on is a must for my style of play and sliders.

Previous years it worked using quick counts and hybrid broadcast. I like broadcast style too so I'm fine with it. Do I need to be in franchise mode for it to work? Or can it work in exhibition mode that I was using to try to get it to work?

the only good ump is the ones they put in the outfield for the post-season
if you notice the ump, then he's not doing his job
umpiring is the only job you have to start out perfect day one,
and then get better everyday after that

So I figured it out. Have to be using broadcast and quick counts off inside of franchise. It's not a killer but I really liked hearing it just because. Oh well...just another odd thing they decided to do this year with the game.

I don’t know about that one. I play exhibition broadcast mode and they not only name the umps but they point out what there strike zone is and how they effect players. I love the variety of umps and I see so me good calls and bad calls like real life. But then again I have stayed away from downloading any patches so it could be that!!

Do you use quick counts? Yes I love the variety too and how the announcers discuss each umpire's strike zone. It must just be a quick count thing then. Just annoying cause it never was like that before. Maybe it's a glitch idk? I would like to see them add 3-5 more different umpires though. Or replace one and actually have the announcers talk about one ump retiring or something. Would be nice to have a few more at least though. Ps5 surely can do it.
