    CPU power changes the ceilings
    CPU contact changes the floors
Human Consistency impacts the bell curve

I find the floors way too high on default, which causes me to lower contact sliders. Here's the rub though: contact sliders effect a whole swath of things, like ideal timing window and check swing ability. You've already technically tried changing this slider by changing your difficulty level, but you can see how messing with it can cause other problems to emerge, which then need to be compensated with other slider settings, and then you need large sample sizes to ensure THOSE changes are working properly and not creating any new problems and then you end up 1.2 years in and your sliders still aren't solidified yet. I hope you can understand why, in your case (with a pitching interface I'm unfamiliar with) I want to avoid going that route.

If pinpoint is anything like pulse pitching, one tick on the control slider will only amount to a very subtle difference. I play at 2 on legend and recommend 0 for HoF in my slider set, but I can still hit a corner often with a high BB/9 player.
Awesome. Thanks again for the help! Will make these adjustments tomorrow and see how I go.

Cool. Just keep in mind this may not be the fix. Everything in this game has a knock on effect. It's entirely possible that All-Star+ was perfect for you and the only issue was that baserunners were too slow, or the solution could be solid hits (affects launch angles).

Without eyes on the results, the help I can provide is mostly guesswork, even with the excellent effort you put in to type everything out.

      Good luck!

What's the difference between the Control and Consistency sliders? The explanations on the slider menu screen are very similar.

Control widens/shrinks the area in which your pitch could land, and consistency increases/reduces how far the ball deviates from its intended path in the case of a bad input?

There is more to it than this, but the simplest way to put it is that pitcher control changes the control you have on good inputs, while pitcher consistency changes the control you have on bad inputs.

          There are other impacts too:

Reducing pitch control had a scaling effect on your pitches. Your primary pitch will not change much in terms of control, but your 4th and 5th pitches will have more significant changes.

Pitcher consistency also impacts bat exit velocity averages and how consistent a pitcher's break is. Lowering is will raise bat exit velocity averages, make balls break earlier/less on average, and reduce your control on bad inputs. Raising it will lower bat exit velocity averages, make balls break later/more on average, and increase your control on bad inputs.

Note that the average bat exit velocity can be impacted more by lowering the floor (contact) or raising the ceiling (power). The average it effects is not a fixed point.

            Re: CPU Offense

So turns out I accidentally turned CPU Power up to 6 at some point and didn't realise. This is why I'd get knocked out of the park as soon as I put the difficulty up to Hall of Fame >_<

I've turned turned that back down to five, kept it on Hall of Fame, and put my control and consistency down to 2 and 4 respectively, and it feels nicely balanced now. Getting a good number of hits, a good number of which are hit hard, and I'm getting a few more walks now too due to the lower control.

Thanks again for the advice, and apologies that you invested time and energy into my stupid mistake lol. The info about control and consistency was useful so at least I didn't completely waste your time.
