Any patch update?

The next patch must be a big one. Seems like forever since the last. My only real complaint is the frame rate on Xbox. Anybody know when the next on drops?

Yeah, I am shocked that we haven't had an update since the 3 small patches in the week span in mid-May. It seems to me like they are done updating the game. Or maybe just working on the night games in created stadiums.

It seems like for the first month or two after release there is an update every week or two and then it stops. You would think the remaining issues would have been fixed by now if they were going to be.

Adding xbox and next gen in the same year was a heavy lift. The article I saw implied microsoft leveraged MLB into forcing the studio to include xbox if they wanted the license.

I wonder if that's true or if the studio wanted the extra revenue. Either way that's a lot to add in one year.

If that is the case, I do not think Microsoft needed to put much pressure on the MLB. I suspect the MLB wanted the reach of the game to extend beyond the Playstation as interest in the game also promotes Major League Baseball in general. It is likely going multi-platform was a condition of extending the license. I do not believe extra revenue for SDS was the driving factor.

They have mentioned a couple of things they were "looking into" on a stream a couple of weeks ago (the 'R2 issue' for online is one - people spamming R2 to get a look at the selected pitch).

Typically, when SDS says they are looking into something, they usually go in and patch it. I don't think they're done with patches just yet...and we know about the communication about RTTS they sent out a month ago.

My guess is that we see something in the relatively near future...it might be the final 'big patch' we get though.

Thanks. I don't ever catch those streams so I didn't know unless people say on here. I figured we would get one more patch for the night games in created stadiums since they did say that will be fixed.

No, a patch to fix all day games for some teams in franchise and possibly improve the frame rate

There's a laundry list of items that really need to be updated in this game across all of the modes.

RTTS has a slew of issues (which I am not as familiar with as I don't play that mode) - but it's bad enough that SDS posted a public communication about it and the plans they were making.

Franchise mode has several issues
- 4 teams getting way too many day games
- trade logic needs tweaked pretty significantly (it's borderline broken right now)
- custom stadiums not getting night games

Gameplay also has some stuff that needs to be adjusted
- K/9 is too powerful of a modifier relative to batting ratings (this could just be a 'simulation mode' only adjustment)
- Exit velos are too high for contact swings (primarily for folks using zone)
- SDS also needs to address several annoyances related to online play
- there are always little animation tweaks that need made

This list is by no means comprehensive...but even with just this short list, it's easy to see that they have a lot to do that goes beyond the usual nit-picking we see.

In manage mode the game crashes sometimes. It's clear to me the addition of next gen by itself was a lot for the developers and then they quadrupled the work by adding xbox. Every bug has to be patched for 4 platforms and they are overwhelmed.

They should have pushed back and explained to MLB they couldn't do xbox this year with the rollout of the ps5 but would try to add it next year. In past years something as serious as the game crashing would have been fixed early on.
